"C'mon, Kathryn, you have to push," Chakotay encouraged.
"I can't believe I have to give birth here."
"It couldn't have been helped. Voyager is under attack and the transporters weren't working."
"I know, but the turbolift just had to decide to stop working-" she gasped in pain.
"It could be worse."
"I don't see how."
"The turbolift could have stopped working while were still on the Bridge."
She smiled, but it was cut short. "I can see the head," Chakotay reported.
She continued to push and he continued to shout out various body parts that he could see until... "Wah-wah."
"Kathryn, it's a boy." Chakotay gave the child to Kathryn.
"He's beautiful."
He kissed Kathryn on the forehead. "Just like his mother."
"I love you."
"I love you, too." This should have been the happiest moment of the first officer's life, but it wasn't. He couldn't stand knowing that this wasn't his child; nevertheless, Chakotay would love this child as if it was his own.
