The Tale of The Hair

Luke Skywalker grew up on Tatooine, known as Wormie to most of his 'friends'. But not Biggs Darklighter, ever. And many folk have asked, Why this respect? Biggs was much cooler than Luke! It was because Biggs had a Use for Luke.

It all began when Biggs was fifteen Standard years old, and began to notice Camie and some of the other girls around Anchorhead. None of them would respond to his sexual overtures, tho, and he was very depressed, until he came up with a Master Plan.

Biggs and Luke were hanging out one day [Luke was 13] and Biggs decided to cut Luke's hair. You see, Uncle Owen had let Luke grow his hair out until it was very long and it looked all right, if a little straggly.

He thought very hard about what to do with it, and went with an awful shag. Luke and his aunt Beru were both slightly horrified at first, until Biggs created some mockup fashion magazines to demonstrate that the shag was 'really hip on Coruscant'. Beru was doubtful, but Luke loved the hairstyle after that, and so Biggs saved himself from retribution.

It was not long after this that Biggs discovered the Use of Luke, during a Truth or Dare game with some particularly stupid girls from the cheerleading team for a local repulsorgolf team. The girls had set up the rules so that if you refused a dare, you had to fufill a forfeit specified by the daring person. Biggs had protested the rule until he found out how useful it was. He dared one of the girls to kiss Luke, and she took one look at the poor shmuck's hair and refused. Biggs took one look at her ass[ets] and knew exactly what the forfeit would be. Needless to say, Luke's hair stayed the same for the rest of Biggs's stay on Tatooine, although it is not known just how many of the girls tricked in this manner actually cared to repeat the game of Truth or Dare, It has been hypothesized by some Rebel sympathizers entranced by Darklighter's features that some girls played the game every day. We have no evidence suggesting that Skywalker understood any of the forfeiting that went on, or what his role in the coercion was.

After Darklighter's death in the battle of Yavin IV, Skywalker eulogized his friend at the pilots' party, telling the story of the numerous Truth or Dare parties. A certain Han Solo was apparently inspired by the tale and took up maintenance of Skywalker's coiffure.

[footnote: After Leia Organa decided that she favored Solo over Skywalker, Solo ended his hairdressing duties. It is known that a pilot named Wedge Antilles who had also been present at Yavin took up the scissors, and that Skywalker and Antilles were known to go out drinking together. Now that Commander Antilles is apparently attached, the fate of Skywalker's hair is unknown. Rumor states that while Skywalker was accompanying Lando Calrissian on a 'wife-hunting' trip, Calrissian cut Skywalker's hair. As Solo and Calrissian are known to be acquiantances, whether Calrissian knew the tale of Darklighter is uncertain, but the possibility should not be ruled out entirely.]
