Colluphid Armoury

Who's Behind this thing?

My name is David Heirtzler, and I keep this site going because I clearly have way too much time on my hands despite being terribly busy with my work. I am a Physics graduate student at the University of New Hampshire who is currently working on the ACE Spacecraft. Here at the University we have designed, fabricated, and tested the SEPICA (Solar Energetic Particl Ionic Charge Analyzer) Instument on the ACE (Advanced Composition Explorer) observatory spacecraft. It is scheduled to launch on August 21st, 1997, and sometime before then we need software to analyze the data we get back. That's where I come in. I am currently writing an application which will retreive our data from the raw HDF data files we get from the craft, and display the information in some sort of useful form. All this despite the fact that I have little to no programing experience (in truth, closer to none).

On August 25th at 10:39 am EST, the ACE spacecraft lauched aboard a Delta II vehicle. I was fortunate enough to be present at the KSC in Cape Canaveral for the launch, but here's a glimpse for those who were not:

As far as chainmaille goes, I first became interested when I was exposed to the SCA and REALMS subcultures here at the university. Nothing much came of it until I started to surf the web two years ago and happened upon the Arador Armour Library. Using it as launching pad, I was able to glean enough methods and patterns to make a number of different pieces. When I get around to taking pictures of them, I will put them of this site. From that point on I've been perfecting and expanding my skills.

I can't yet provide a picture of myself, but I can do the next best thing. My father was lead guitarist for a howlin' good blues band called Annabelle's Wolf Pack. Unfortuately, as it turns out, Annabelle herself sucked. So he instrumented a convienent breakup of that band, and a reassembly (of key players) into a new, improved blues outfit called Quasi-Mojo . Since I've been told that I am practically his clone, here a picture of him with his band (He's the first one on the left). Give his site a visit for information and links to some of the best music ever made. His outfit is available for hire for parties and clubs.

On May 25th, 1996, the most beautiful woman in the world took me for her husband. Her name is Jan Heirtzler and she makes my world complete so I would be remiss to leave her of off this page. Her page, however, can do more to describe her than I can. She loves to stir up trouble (as most intelligent women will) and her site shows it.
Now that she's added new material to it, it should be much more interesting to look at.
