At 3:30 a.m. the alarm on Rogue's bracelet went off.  Gambit woke with a start.   He squinted as he  tried to let his eyes adjust to the darkened conditions around him.  "Oh yeah, dat's raht."  I got to move out today.  He started to raise up, but found he couldn't.  Rogue was draped all about him.  She had him in such a tangle that he knew he would not be able to leave without waking her.  "Chere."

She did not move.

"Chere."  He said a little louder.

She still did not move.

This time he shook her gently.  "Chere!"  He said more clearly.

"Hummm."  She answered back.

He let himself settle back down into the bed.  "Time for me ta leave."

"Ummm ... Hummm.  O.K.  Remy."  She moaned then stretched behind him.

Gambit started trying to pull himself  loose from her tangled limbs.  It took some effort but he finally did manage to pull free from her.  He threw back the covers then let his feet touch the floor.  He let his elbows rest on his pajama clad knees with his head in his hands.

When the six hours had started, he came up with a compromise.  He opted to hold Rogue instead of making love to her.  This way, they could still be close without jeopardizing her health or the health of the children.

Rogue felt around the bed.  Where's Remy?  Finally her hand contacted with the warm flesh of his upper back.  She cooed.  "Remy, come back tah bed Sugah."  She whispered as she let her hands glide up under his hair to the back of his neck.

She was indeed making it hard for him to be noble.  Gambit let his head fall back, eyes closed, his hair falling all about his shoulders.  It swung from side to side as he shook his head, No.  "Non Chere.  I gotta go."

Rogue came up out of the bed behind him.  She pressed her body against his back.  "We got a whole half and hour Sugah."  She gently pushed his hair out of her way.  She camed down, rubbing the soft silky material of her night dress against him, as she kissed his back.

He could feel her against him.  Gambit sighed as she brought her hands around his chest, under his arms, to the front of him.  He arched his back as she spreaded her hands open, pushing them down to massage his abs.  Every muscle in his body stiffened when she started using her finger nails to gently scratch him.  She mak'in it hard for me ta keep my word.  He leaned to oneside then let himself fall back down into the bed with her.

"Ya play'in dirty Chere."

"Now Remy, can't we 'jis ... yah know ... for old time sake?"  She begged.  Rogue was writhing with frustration.

Gambit chuckled low in his throat as he pulled her into his arms.  "Nah Chere.  I know how ya feel, but it's not worth caus'in ya nor de chil'lin further harm."  He gently stroked her back.  "Try ta understand.  If somet'ing was ta happen ta ya because we ...... I wouldn't be able ta forgive myself.  'Jis let me hold ya.  Dis is all I wan'.

Rogue cuddled close to his side.  "All raht Sugah.  We'll do it your way."  She shrugged.  "Can't says Ah didn't try."

Remy knew it was getting late.  "T'ank ya."  He told her as he started to pull away from her.

"No."  She clamped her legs around him to halt his movements.  "Tah the last Remy ... stay with me tah the last?"

Gambit looked at the clock that was on his night stand.  It read 3:50 a.m.  Then he turned his attention back to the woman that held him.  "Ta de last Chere.  Ta de last." He gathered her up to him again as they both waited until the last possible moment to let go.
