Gambit's totaled bike brought him a nice tidy sum.  The dealer was also the same company that held his insurance policy.  They were able to pay him off instantly.  The insurance rep told him that since his bike was now considered collector items that they would pay him off immediately if he was willing to take payment at a reduced rate.  His other option was to wait for a month until all the paper work was done and a proper investigation ran. He did not like the sound of that.

Bishop and Gambit walked around the show room eyeing the new models and some of the restored older ones.  "Well Remy, do you see anything you like?"  Gambit did not answer him back.  To Bishop, Remy looked like he was preoccupied with something outsides motor cycles.  "Father?"

"I upset Rogue Bish."  Gambit admitted.  "Stormy say dat she was crying when I left her after I had changed my clothes."  He shook his head, No.  "I don' wan' ta be de cause of her being upset.  It ain't good for de babies nor her."  He said sadly.

"Well ..."  Bishop looked all around them.  "... what are you going to do?"  He pointed at the check in Gambit's hand.  "You have the check ... that does not say you have to buy another bike.  Besides you already have one that you never ride."

"Yeah, I know what you mean but I ..."  Gambit's voice trailed off as something came into his line of vision out the showroom's large window.  " ... do ya see dat?"

Bishop turned to see what he was talking about.  "Yeah, what about it?"

"Let's go.  I know a way ta make Rogue happy again."

"Jean sat perched on the edge of the boat dock in front of hers and Scott's houseboat."  What's wrong with me?  I should be happy for Gambit and Rogue ... shouldn't I?  She let out a exasperating breath of air.  This attitude she had toward Rogue's pregnancy was really starting to bother her.  Even to the point that she had faked an excuse just so she did not have to face her.  She felt like she was in a sort of 'funk' over the whole thing.  Everyone else is happy ... so what's wrong with me?

"Afternoon Jeanie."

"Oh!  Logan, you startled me."  She shyly dropped her head.

"Weren't you suppose to help Storm with Rogue this morn'in Darlin?"  He walked up closer to her.

"Yeah ... I ... um ... I had ... something else that needed my attention."  She kept her head turned as she lied.

"Um hum."  Was all he said back.

"Can I help you with something Wolverine?"

"Nope.  Can I return the favor?"

"What are you talking about?  What favor?"

"Now Jeanie.  No need to get all defensive.  What yer feel'in is to be expected ... given yer situation."

"My situation!"  She bristled as she came up on her feet to face him.

Wolverine could see that he had hit a nerve.  Well if she don't admit it out loud, I'll admit it fer her.  "You're jealous of Rogue's being expect'in."

"Jealous!  How dare you accuse me of such a thing!  I couldn't be happier for her!!"

"Hummmm,"  he studied her.  "Couldn't ya be Red?"

"Yes!"  She bit out at him.  Jean narrowed her eyes at Wolverine, "Maybe you ought to mind your own business and leave your two cent psycho babble to the professionals!"  She stormed off toward the main house.

Logan watched her leave.  "The sooner you admit it to yourself the sooner you'll be able to deal with it!!"  He yelled after her.

She jerkily motioned one of her hands at him but never turned around.

He pulled out a cigar from his shirt pocket.  Logan balanced his short frame on one leg as he struck a match on his raised boot heel.  The match flared to life as he brought it up to the cigar.  He puffed and puffed until the cigar's end shown red.  Smoke swirled around him as he let it escape from his mouth.  "Gonna be an interesting five months."

"Sign here Mr. Lebeau."  The salesman pointed at the dotted line.  He explained to Gambit what his monthly payments were going to be and for how many years he would have to finance the purchase for.

Gambit just waved a hand at him.  "I be in tomorrow ta pay it off.  I 'jis made de down payment so I could take it home tonight."

The salesman looked at him dumbfounded.  He turned to Bishop.  "Is he serious?"

Bishop nodded with pride, Yes.  "When it comes to something he wants ..."  He stroked his beard briefly.  "... in a word ...... Yes."

The salesman looked at the two of them shocked.  *Ahem*   "Then I'll just go and finish the correct paperwork and you can be on your way."  He left them.

Gambit looked at Bishop and Bishop looked at him.  They both started snickering then laughing about the look on the salesman's face.  "Pup, did ya see de look on his face," laughed Gambit.

"Yeah ..."  Laughed Bishop.  " ... he couldn't get out of her fast enough."  They both rolled.

Bishop raised up in his chair to look outside the cubical.  He quickly sat back down when he spotted the salesman making his way back to them.  "Sssshh, ssssh, here he comes."

"Now Sirs, if both of you would follow me, I'll show you the service lanes and other features you might want to take advantage of."

Both Gambit and Bishop came out of the small cubical to follow the salesman out of the main showroom.  Remy waved a dismissing hand at the man.  "Dat wan' be necessary.  I do my own repairs."

The salesman eyed Gambit curiously.  He nodded, Yes.  "Just the same, my boss will have my head if I let a customer leave without seeing everything.  You will have to sign an evaluation sheet on my performance before you go."

We burn'in daylight.  "I tell ya wha'.  I sign off on your dealership if ya can get me one t'ing."

The salesman stopped in his tracks.  "O.K.  Evidently you are in a hurry.  It's a deal.  Now what is it that you want me to get for you?"

"A big red bow.  'Bout dis long ..."  He stretched out his hands.  "... and dis round."  He arched both of his arms in a large circle.

"I think I can handle that."

"Want some company?"  Jean peaked around the main office door.

"Why Mrs. Somers ..."  Scott sat back in his chair.  "... does your husband know that you are in the habit of visiting married men in their offices?"

She smiled as she let herself come further into the large mahogany office.  "No ... "  She came around to the side of the desk where he was sitting.  "... we'll let this be our little secret."

Scott eased his chair back then he grabbed her by one arm and hoisted on his lap.  "A secret?"  He arched his browse behind his visor.  "... I like secrets."  He smiled.

Jean leaned down to kiss him when he stopped her. "Wait a minute ... aren't you suppose to be helping Storm with Rogue today?"  He squinted at her as she pulled back from him.  "I know you are because I had to do kitchen detail because of it."  Jean did not reply.  He studied his wife's expression.  "Is there something going on with you Jean?"

She hurriedly got up out of his lap.  "No ... I'm  fine.  I'm fine."  She repeated as the weave her fingers nervously together.

Scott got up out of his chair to follow her, "No you are not.  I can see it in every move you make.  Tell me what's wrong?"

Jean quickly turned her back to him as she fought for self control.

Her thoughts had been cluttered but now with her mounting emotional state, it call came to him as clear as a bell.  "You're jealous ..."  He couldn't believe it.  "... you are ... aren't you?"

Jean closed her eyes.  She didn't move or made a sound as Scott came around to stand in front of her.  She opened her eyes to look at him.  They were filled to the brim with suppressed tears.

"Aw Jean."  He held out his arms for her.

She went willingly into arms, laying her head upon his chest.  "Cyclops,"  she breathed as she turned her face into his chest to hide her shame.

Scott pulled her close, comforting her as she sobbed against him.  Why didn't I see this coming?  He let his jaw rest on the top of her head.  Why?
