Proof Sheets

The following "Proof Sheets" were created late in the package design process to demonstrate to Kenner higher ups how the final package design might look. If the design was approved the card or box would go into mass production. Sometimes minor or major changes would be made before the package made it to the production stage. Most of the proofs below have minor changes from the production packaging which are not worth mentioning. However, the 4-figure proof card sheet shows more substantial changes which are noted at the link.

All the proof sheets were printed on cardboard that is of thinner stock than the production material. The 4-figure proof card sheet is printed front and back. The front side is glossy similar to the production finish. The back side lacks the glossy finish but is white in color. The remaining proofs are printed on the fronts only all with the glossy finish. The back sides are brown cardboard, as the actual box would be. All also demonstrate the color matching bars along the edges.

There are less than 10 of each proof sheet in existence today and probably not too many more were ever even produced. Proof sheets of the Streets of Cairo playset, the Arabian Horse, the Board Game and a remarkable 9-figure proof card sheet also exist but in even fewer numbers. Individual proof cards are also rumored to exist but I have never personally seen any. If you have any further information on any such items, please feel free to email me.
