Holonovel--Page Forty-six

As the officers return to the bridge and take their stations, acting captain Lt. Flonn walks to an aft science console and the rest of the relief crew leaves the bridge.
Flonn says, "The computer does record a D'Deridex class Romulan warbird leaving orbit and then jumping to warp for 1.7 seconds, and we saw it on the veiwer--then it was gone. It faded instantly, and there was no trace of it after 1.83 seconds. It was no longer there--as if it vaporized."
"Or cloaked," the captain adds thoughtfully.
"It's possible. That could explain the fade--although a cloak would generally have taken longer." Flonn turns back to the console, "If it cloaked the specific second it warp-jumped, the readings could have been distorted, causing it to disappear from sensors early. It would still have to have cloaked faster than normal, though.
Sari comments, "Perhaps they've improved their cloaking device somehow. This artifact seems to be very important to them--and it should be; after all, it is powerful. Perhaps they were after it."
"Perhaps they were. Lieutenant, can you calculate their trajectory from the sensor records?" asks Ramik.
"The sensor records are too brief to pinpoint a destination, but their general direction would be the Cyntar system, near the Federation Neutral Zone border.
"Does it have any class-M planets?"
No...but the nearby Solian System has three. Those are the only Class-M planets in the area.
"Set a course for it, Lieutenant Connors."
