The Empire Strikes Back: The Special Edition

The Empire Strikes Back: The Special Edition. Rating:****. I'd like to point out all the new changes, which, to say the least, that I'm proud to see. In the beginning, the Victory class Star Destroyer was a bit clearer than the old version. Next, the probe droid's transport didn't look separated from the Star Destroyer. However, it was from the same view as the original version. And as the transport was entering the planet Hoth, the planet was clearer than before. When the transport hit the ground, the sound of the impact was distinct and clear. Then, as the probe droid came out and started to explore the planet for the rebels, it was seen more clearly. Also, as Luke and his Taun-Taun were approaching the probe droid's landing site, the Taun-Taun didn't look like claymation. But, a HUGE mistake Lucas made was when the wampa held Luke captive and was eating his Taun-Taun. Later, as we all know, Han Solo cut up his own Taun-Taun in order to keep Luke and himself warm. As can be (unfortunately) clearly seen, the Taun-Taun's organs were covered with a milky-white substance which was supposed to be his blood. However, when you come accross the big wampa eating his dinner, his mouth and paws are covered with a distinct red liquid, which is also supposed to be the Taun-Taun's blood. Which is which? Well, Lucas admitted that indeed the blood was white and he made a mistake when covering the wampa's paws with red blood.

Then, new frames were added when the Millenium Falcon arrived on Bespin. Not only did you "ride along" with it as it flew through all the shimmering buildings, but, even when it landed, it looked totally re-made. Then, once inside, there were things which Lucas had decided to add to make that dull, boring mining colony beautiful: WINDOWS. There were too many windows, though, and eventually you got tired of seeing ships zoom past each other across the sun setting. Oh, and when Leia and Co. went after carbonite-cased Han Solo they even ventured outside to avoid those Stormtroopers! But, unfortunately, Yoda still looks like a worn-out old puppet, even though he's retained his sense of humor. His voice still sounds the same, but a bit better.

Well, that's it for now. See ya next time, and MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!
