"Absolutely, sir,"replied Noori. After that, we all kinda wandered off to explore "Terra". From the looks of this place, I guessed we landed in some kinda landing zone. Not only were there remnants of dropship lights, but remains of dropships themselves! And if you scraped at the surface you'd eventually uncover some metal sheeting or those bands of alternating black and yellow lines (the bands you see at construction sites and crime scenes as well). Then, I happened to come across a suspicious-looking mound. At first, I thought it was a helluva large ant colony. Jeez, I thought, them ants on Terra must be huge.
Then I figured, what the hell, and opened fire on it. Darn ants; got enough of them at home! After about 5 minutes of continuous laser, minnigun, and missle bombardmants, the mound finally gave way. I expected to see ant body parts, covered with greenish blood, come hurtling and splashing all over my windshield. What a mess I'd have to clean up! But what it revealed made me almost puke! There, lying strewn across the soft ground, lay bloody carcasses of men, rotting to the point of looking like skeletons. A couple were "stuck" to pieces of rubble which resembled a torn down Clan Hall. What the. . . , I almost shouted. "Looks like some kinda massacre."
All of a sudden, the ground gave way under Jenny's feet. "What in the-,"I exclaimed. Down, down, down I fell, until I landed on my side in a deep, dark cavern. Glancing to my right, I saw that Jenny's arm had broken part of our fall, and now lay shattered in a heap of metal, wires, and other bits and pieces. "OWW! CRAP! Now how am I gonna get out of here?!"
Looking up, my eyes caught a glimpse of laser fire flying across the sky. Curious, I listened carefully to the comlink as well as any sounds from above. "Oh shi-,"I heard Steven say. Man, what was happeneing? Turning my gaze upwards again, I saw limbs and chunks of flying metal that were blown off 'mechs land right next to me. Then, through my earphone, I heard a massive explosion, followed by a gigantic wave of flames come searing over the opening of the cave I was in.
Tired of just sitting around, I decided to use a pair of newly designed jump jets I had installed onto Jenny. Untested or not, I had to try this system in order to save my dying friends. Rotating my torso to the point where my Timberwolf's "nose" was on the ground, I then moved my legs around so I ended up standing straight up. Then, with a tight jaw and firm grip on the controls, I turned up my jets.
Landing on firm ground on the surface again, I was greeted by a volley of LRMs. Having cut off my other arm and left leg, Jenny succumbed to gravity and fell to her knees. Sighing, I peered up and saw the shattered remains of what once were my subordinates, allies, and friends. Their 'mechs were literally torn to pieces by the bastards that stood over them and me. Staring straight at my oppressers, I could make out a...Ghost Bear Kodiak, Stormcrow, and Nova. "Whoa...you got me,"I said.
