COMPETION RULES FOR ROBOTS (Rules V1.0)

These rules are will set out the 4 classes which you
could enter your robots into. If you would like to see a new
class included in this file then e-mail me and I might put it in.

These classes are obviously not meant as a restriction on what combat
robots you can design it mearly helps in the comparison of robots and
eases the process of setting up challenges with strangers. Of course
depending on your speed of your computer and your patience you may want to
alter the number of time steps it takes until a draw is checked for I more
commonly use 30,000 step when testing my robots although slower computers
could use 10,000 steps or even 5000.

I would recomend that no more than 10 Robots ever battled at one time.

Anyway enough of the pointless waffle here are the tournaments.

Class: 1
Name: 1 ON 1
Number of Teams: 2
Number of Robots per Team: 1
Restrictions: Regeneration must be 0
Shot Strength may be no more than 6
No more than 43 Points may be spent on the robot
Victory Conditions: Victory will go to the team with the surviving robot
If at 20,000 time steps there is no victor the match is
                    a draw.

Class: 2
Name: Free for All
Number of Teams: 6 to 15
Number of Robots per Team: 1
Restrictions: Regeneration may be no more than 4
Victory Conditions: Victory will go to the team with the surviving robot.
If at 20,000 time steps there is more than 1 surviving robot
victory will go to the robot with most kills. If that is
also tied then it is a draw amongst all surviving robots with
                    the most kills.

Class: 3
Name: 4 ON 4
Number of Teams: 2
Number of Robots per Team: 4
Restrictions: All robots on the team must be the same i.e. 4 Mole7s or 4 Dans
              would make up a team.
Victory Conditions: Victory will go to the surviving team. If at 30,000 time steps
both teams still have surviving robots the team with the most
robots left is the victor. If that is tied the team with the
most kills gained by surviving robots is the victor. If that
doesn't settle it add up kills of dead robots as well and if that
doesn't give you a clear victor it is a draw.

Class: 4
Name: The Restricted Code Championship
Number of Teams: 2 to 15
Number of Robots per Team: 1
Restrictions: Regeneration must be 1
No more than 45 points may be spent on the robot.
No more than 30 lines of code, excluding labels, may be used.
Victory Conditions: Victory will go to the team with the surviving robot.
If at 20,000 time steps there are more than 1 surviving robot
victory will go to the robot with most kills. If that is tied
the victory will be awarded to the robot with the most kills and
the least code. If for some reason that doesn't separate them
it is a draw amongst the top surviving robots.
