Death Knight: Part I

You don't know me. I don't know you. Perhaps I should tell myself about you. It is forbidden for me to speak of my home world, or my people, but I will tell you some things about myself you may want to know, as well as the circumstances that brought me here. You see, I was exiled from my home worlds for reasons I cannot discuss, but I eventually came in contact with the Shadow Academy. They found me valuable, not only in my superb hand-to-hand combat, piloting, and general all around soldiering skills, but also in my raw talent with the Force. I joined the shadow academy mainly for the opportunity it provided. I became very proficient with a lightsaber, and I constructed one for myself using a rare gem called a sapphire. I was teamed up with Qorl to take combat-trained Jedi knights and fine tune their skills to created an elite special forces team called Death Knights. I had a prototype custom made TIE-interceptor constructed out of a ditanium-durasteel-charnasium alloy called durillium or "Blue Iron". It was early in my training when I was introduced to a Dark Jedi, named Zekk. I knew that he was going to be the greatest of the Knights, even though he looked only a few months older then me. Brakiss wanted me to instruct Zekk in unarmed combat, and Zekk to instruct me how to fine-tune my control of the Force. We both became better warriors this way. We also became the closest of friends. I told him about the unusual turn of events that brought me to the Shadow Academy. He told me of his life on the streets of coruscant. I asked him about the rumors with his involvement of the Solo twins. He told me about an embarrassing diplomatic banquet after which one Jaina Solo said "Don't worry, we're friends and thats all that matters" or something to that effect. He spoke with scorn and contempt, but I also detected something else...a longing.... The Battle of the Jedi came all too soon. I took my lightsaber, a blaster and a hunting knife along with my black leather uniform/body armor along with a pure black tie pilot helmet minus the breathing gear. I send my fighter to a hidden location on Ord Mantell, along with a few choice items. I wasn't sure of the shadow academy, but I had every confidence in our Darkest Knight. There was no way that Zekk would lead his warriors to defeat, I thought. I'm sure you know the results of the battle. And I did good. I killed or injured over 30 young Jedi and new republic personal. But it wasn't enough. After the shadow academy was destroyed I searched for my comrades, but found only bodies. There were 17 Death Knights and more dark Jedi than I can remember.... I had a sneaking suspicion that I was the only one left. I started toward the Great Temple. After I don't know how long I felt a strong surge of ...anger...surprise...frustration...hope.... I found a tall tree and started to climb. When I reached the top, I used the macro binoculars on my helmet to scan around the temple, a few hundred yards away. I saw Zekk, looking terrible, dueling with a young lady, about my age, looking surprisingly good, under the circumstances. I watched the duel for a few minutes until the girl shut her lightsaber down. I grew more confused when I saw that, instead of killing her outright, he was playing some kind of game with her, waving his lightsaber around. It suddenly clicked in my mind who she was, and I knew that Zekk wouldn't kill her. I drew my blaster. It was a long shot with a pistol but I had my helmet computers and the Force. I had Jaina's head right below the sight, when my mind told me I had it perfect. The trigger was halfway down when the temple exploded. I remember bright light, rocks and shrapnel, fear and pain, the ground rushing at me, then nothing. When I woke up, I didn't know how long I'd been unconscious. I was stiff and sore, and I could see from the marks on my armor, that something had been trying to pick on my body. I got up slowly and made my way toward the temple again. I watched from a clearing as people were walking around shouting. I saw several people around a light stock freighter talking. Zekk was among them. Zekk...who had led his warriors into battle then let them be killed. Zekk who had turned his back on all his comrades in an instant. Zekk... I was simmering in anger, but I couldn't do anything about it, without getting caught. I used a force trick to hide myself from the Jedi, until nightfall. Then I stowed away on a freighter headed for Sluis Van. From there I used money from one of the Shadow academies front companies to purchase an old stormtrooper transport. I went to Ord Mantell to pick up my Fighter, fake ID, plenty of credits and my other items. They nicely fit in the transport. It wasn't long before I found a very high class apartment complex. I spent a little over a year there, while really out doing semi-illegal assassination jobs and mercenary work until I found out that the Solo family would be coming to Ord Mantell. I suspected that Anja Gallandro, a young assistant of one of Black Suns' lieutenants would great them accordingly. I might have stayed to witness the events, but I didn't want to become known of just yet. I left for Coruscant just before The Solos' arrived. It wasn't too much work to set up suitable furnishings for myself. I am currently living in a very exclusive condominium with and excellent view of the Place as well as the Imperial City skyline. Which brings us back to the present. I am in no kind of hurry to get on with my plan, but I think I will be paying one of Zekk's friends a visit in the future. Zekk cannot begin to imagine the horrors I have waiting for him. That's what Death Knights are for, after all...
