Cheesy Story

The story that I wrote doesn't have a title, but I don't think that it really deserves one. Here it is:

I wrote this awhile ago, at 2am with an extreem caffiene buzz, so that explains some of it, I think. It kind of follows an outline from the fan fiction section on the site, Coruscant, but it got kind of different.

This is a stupid story. Has no point, also doesn’t have a title. My sincere apologies to anyone who reads this.

We see a shadow next to what appears to be a giant telescope, and just beyond that, a magnificent view of the gas planet Yavin.

“So, you think that you can just ignore my invitations to come visit me?!” {looks through telescope}

“You will come! I will make you come!” {insane laughter, fade to black}

We see a distant scene of Tenel Ka, attempting to braid her hair in her room.

“Aggghhhhhhh!”

Tenel Ka, was getting annoyed.

{mutters} “Stupid one hand. Can’t ever braid my hair without getting my nails stuck in it. Maybe grandmother was right...”

{There is a knock at the door}

“Come in!” She calls, her hand still attached to the left side of her head.

“Tenel Ka? I was wondering if you wanted to....” Jacen trails off, noticing the hand, and Tenel Ka’s angry expression.

“Yes?” She doesn’t appear to mind that her hand is caught, and is now staring at Jacen with a look of rapt attention.

“Um....Well, I.......I thought that maybe......um.....” Jacen, noticing her stare, has lost the ability to form complete sentences.

“Yes?” Tenel Ka, again trying to get an answer out of him, is rapidly returning to her previous state of agitation.

“I was just....um...I meant to say...... would-you-like-to-go-on-a-walk- with-me-in-the-jungle?” Jacen quickly says, while looking extremely nervous.

“Of course, I would enjoy that, but at the moment I’m......rather tangled, maybe we could go tonight?” Tenel Ka says this while casting sideways glances at her hand.

“Sure! I mean, whatever you want is fine with me! I see you then!” Jacen practically runs from her room, eager to tell someone about, what was in his mind, a “date”.

“Jaina! You’ll never guess what I just......Oh, hi Zekk.” Instead of his sister, Jacen found Zekk in Jaina’s room.

“Jacen, have you seen Jaina? I can’t find her anywhere!” Zekk appears slightly worried.

“Did you check in the _Rock Dragon_’s engine?” Before he can reply, Jacen continues with what just happened in Tenel Ka’s room. “Guess what? I went to go ask Tenel Ka if she would go on a walk with me, and she said yes!” Jacen appears overly enthusiastic over the minor event.

“That’s great Jacen, believe me it is. But I already looked in there, and she wasn’t.” Zekk appears to be more worried.

“Wasn’t what? Oh yeah, she’s probably with Lusa or something. But anyway, do you think she likes me?” Jacen is obviously not listening to Zekk’s problem of not being able to find Jaina.

“Jaina? She’s-”

“No, Tenel Ka!”

“Isn’t it obvious? But I just saw Lusa with Raynar at the comm station!” Zekk isn’t paying anymore attention to Jacen’s comments that Jacen is to his.

“Obvious? How is it obvious? Am I too obvious?” Jacen is now worried about seeming too interested, and making Tenel Ka feel like he was hanging around her to much.

“Aren’t you both? Now, for the last time, Where is Jaina?” Zekk is becoming angry with Jacen’s disinterest.

“How should I know? I’m not her keeper. Do you mean that you think she likes me too?” Jacen has stopped talking, and is staring out into space.

“Fine, I’m leaving, if you don’t know where she is, I’ll find someone who does.” Zekk heads out the door, and moves toward the lecture hall, hoping that she’s in there, or at least, there’s someone who knows where she is.

Again we see Tenel Ka in her room, her hand is almost free.

{someone knocks on the door again}

“Come in!” She calls, looking preoccupied, and not with her hair.

“Tenel Ka? Have you seen Zekk?” Jaina has been trying to find Zekk for the past half hour.

“No. Has your brother been acting strange to you lately?” Tenel Ka is worried about his earlier behavior around her.

“He seemed a little nervous this morning, but that’s all. Do you think he would know where Zekk is?” Jaina is in the state that Zekk was seen in earlier.

“He might. As I recall, Jacen was running in the direction of your room.” Tenel Ka is slightly annoyed at his leaving her so suddenly.

“He was? Good, I’ll go there. Later.” Jaina makes an exit similar to her brother’s, minus the nervous babbling.

“Well, I can see that everyone is just loving to come in here and then run away.” Tenel Ka appears slightly put out.

“It’s probably the hand.” Again, she tries to wrench it free without taking her hair with it.

“Jacen? Have you seen.......Jacen, what _are_ you doing?” She sees him sitting on his bed, with a blank expression on his face.

“Jacen?” Receiving no response, Jaina quickly grabs one of his pillows and throws it in the general direction of his face.

“What the?.....Oh, Jaina, you’ll never guess what I just asked-”

“We’ll talk later, Jacen. Have you seen Zekk?” Jaina had dealt with Jacen in this kind of state before, and did not want him to space out on her.

“He said something about finding you, then something about the comm station.” Jacen was a little bit miffed by her dismissal of his “date” with Tenel Ka.

“K....thanks.” We see Jaina leaving Jacen’s room, and heading toward the comm station.

“He’s looking for me? But I’m looking for him!” Jaina mutters as she runs.

“Zekk? Are you-” Jaina sees the blinking light, a signal that means someone has left a message.

“Guess not.” She sounds somewhat rejected, but moves to play the message anyway.

An older human male appears on the screen, with gray hair, and begins to speak.

“Hello, neighbor. How are you today?” He suddenly reaches down and begins to change his shoes.

“I was wondering if you would like to come to my party. My birthday party, to be exact. You see, because we are neighbors, we should come to each other’s parties.” He seems like he is addressing a three year old, Jaina thinks.

“You can come tonight, it starts around eight standard time. I do hope you will make it, or else...” As he is about to finish the statement, the message fazes out, leaving nothing but static.

“A party, eh? Of course we’ll be there. But what was he doing with his shoes?” Jaina quickly sends a text-only reply, stating that she and a few of her friends will be there.

“Now, where _is_ Zekk?”

“Are you sure she isn’t here?” Zekk is still looking for Jaina, unaware of the fact that she’s looking for him.

“I told you, she just left here, looking for you!” The guard appears annoyed at being asked the same thing repeatedly.

“Fine, fine, I’ll just go back to the _Rock Dragon_” Zekk is becoming tired of searching for Jaina, and is getting annoyed at the irony of her inability to find him as well.

“Jaina! There you are, I’ve trying to find you all day!” Just outside of the comm station, Zekk has found Jaina.

“You’ve been looking for me? I’ve been looking for you!” Before he can say anything, she quickly continues. “We’ve been invited to a birthday party, at this Mr. Rogers person’s ship!”

“Does that mean that we have to get him anything?”

“No, he only told us about it today. Go find Tenel Ka and Jacen, we’ll have to take the _Rock Dragon_.” Jaina is obviously excited at the prospect of going to a party.

“Why can’t I go in my ship?” Zekk prefers to be the one in control of the space craft that he flys in.

“ ‘Cause Lowie’s off looking for Rabba, and I need a copilot.” Jaina feels hurt because she thinks he doesn’t want to be with her.

“Sure, I’d love to fly with you.” Zekk can easily see that he had upset her. “Your brother might be a little upset, though. He thinks that he’s going to go on a walk with Tenel Ka.”

“They’ll be together, and it’s supposed to be a party. He can dance with her, or something.” Jaina really doesn’t care that Jacen won’t be able to go on a walk with Tenel Ka.

“Sounds good. I’ll see if I can break the news to him, and you take care of Tenel Ka. When are we supposed to leave?” Zekk doesn’t care about Jacen’s plans either.

“In about twenty minutes. I’d have told you about it sooner, but I couldn’t find you.” Jaina is still annoyed at not being able to find him earlier.

“Ok, I’ll go get your brother.” Zekk runs off, in the general direction of Jacen’s room.

Jaina appears slightly annoyed at his running away, but dismisses the thought quickly, and runs toward Tenel Ka’s room.

“But it’s a party, you can still hang out with her!” Jacen, is not taking Zekk’s news of the birthday party very well.

“But I had _planned_ this!”

“Well, if you want to stay here, all by yourself, I won’t stop you. Tenel Ka’s already agreed to go.” Zekk hoped this was true, it was the only way he could get Jacen to go.

“She’s going?” Zekk nods. “Then I’ll go too.”

“Good, be at the _Rock Dragon_ in ten minutes.”

“Ten minutes? I only have ten minutes?” Jacen had wanted to at least look nice for the party.

“If I had found your sister earlier, you’d of had more time. Now I’ve got to go do preflight checks on the ship. I’ll see you there?” Zekk is walking hurriedly toward the door.

“Yeah, I’ll be there” Jacen says, distractedly.

“Are you certain that Jacen is ok with this?” Tenel Ka was taking the news better than Jacen, but was worried about how he felt about it.

“Yes, I already told you that he agreed. Now come on, or we’ll be late!” Jaina had spent so much time trying to get Tenel Ka to come, that she only had two minutes left before she planed to leave.

“Very well. My hair will just go unbraided.” Tenel Ka had finally freed her hand, so now her hair is loose, but it still appears brushed.

“That’s great, but lets go! We’ll be late!”

“Did you see that, neighbor?” Mr. Rogers has just received the confirmation of the invitation that he sent to Yavin IV, and is talking to what looks like a sock with a hat on it.

The sock does nothing.

“We’re going to have visitors tonight. I think that we should sent them a welcoming committee.”{insane laughter}

“Yes, I think that they’ll just love it......”{more insane laughter}

“Um....Tenel Ka?”

“Yes Jacen?”

“Um....nevermind.” They had finally made it into the _Rock Dragon_, and were about to leave the atmosphere. Jacen kept starting to say some thing to Tenel Ka, but would always get nervous, and stop.

Tenel Ka wasn’t blind, she could see that Jacen liked her, but was too nervous to do anything about it. It looks like Tenel Ka is going to have to be the one who initiates things.

“Hey, what’s that?” Jaina had just cleared the atmosphere, and was coming face to face with a small escape pod.

“Some kind of escape-Do you think it came from this Mr., Rogers guy’s ship?” Zekk moves the controls, preparing to intercept it.

“Looks like it did. I’ll pull it in, see if you can get any life signs coming from it or the bigger ship.” Jaina manipulates the controls, and leaves the cockpit to retrieve the escape pod.

Tenel Ka looks after her, and decides to follow.

Jacen heaves a sigh of relief. “Any life signs?”

“I’ve got one on the larger ship, but nothing in the escape pod. Could be droids.” Zekk prepares to say something to Jacen.

“Jacen, about you and Tenel Ka, you do of course realize how obvious you are about the way you two feel about each other?” Jacen appears shocked.

“What do you mean? You think that she likes me too?”

“Yes she does. You like her, she likes you, and it looks like she’s gotten fed up with your acting so nervous around her.”

“I do not act nervous!” Jacen is indignant.

“Yes you do, and don’t worry. It just means that she’ll probably be the one to begin the relationship.” Zekk is relieved that now Jacen knows how Tenel Ka feels, but is now preoccupied with thinking about Jaina.

“You really think so?”

“I know so. Just calm down when she comes back.”

“Yeah, I will.” Jacen is becoming ecstatic, and Zekk begins to regret telling him anything.

“Here, if you move this thing over, then I think that it might-” Jaina is interrupted, as what they thought was an escape pod, pops open, causing her to fall backwards.

“Well, it opened.” Jaina moves to see inside.

Inside of the “escape pod” are one folded piece of paper, one sock, and a box that is making a ticking noise.

Tenel Ka reaches for the paper. “ ‘I know something you don’t know, I know something you don’t know.’” she reads, and then turns it over. “ ‘I’m gonna get you. HA HA HA!’”.

“Interesting,” says Jaina, who is examining the sock. It has facial features that appear to be drawn onto it.

“Jaina? I believe that that box is some kind of bomb.” She shows Jaina the paper.

“Uh-oh, lets throw this stuff out, before we trigger something.” They both begin to reclose the “escape pod”.

Just as they close it, and return it to space, it explodes.

“Jaina? What are you two doing back there?” The explosion didn’t damage the ship, but it was sufficient enough to damage the two young Jedi. “Nothing Zekk, we took care of it. Our beloved Mr. Rogers sent _us_ a present.”

“Tenel Ka? Are you all right?”

“Yes Jacen, I’m fine.” As Jaina and Tenel Ka return, Jacen quickly moves to assist Tenel Ka, and even though she doesn’t need his help, she accepts it.

“He tried to kill us!” Jaina is still surprised because of the explosion. “And he sent us a sock!”

“A sock? He’s insane! We should go and have him committed. Or we should kill him!” Zekk is overreacting to the small danger that Jaina had been placed in.

“I agree. Killing him is the only way. Even though we are Jedi, and are only supposed to kill in defense, this is an exception.” Jaina’s voice shakes slightly as she speaks, and looks worried.

While they are planning, Tenel Ka and Jacen have left, and gone to one of the _Rock Dragon_’s back storage rooms.

“Are you sure that you’re alright?”

“Jacen, I told you I’m fine.”

“But are you-”

“Shhhh...” Tenel Ka places a finger on Jacen’s lips. He stares at her, looking nervous, again.

“Jacen, there’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you...” Jacen makes questioning sounds.

“About how you always seem to.....close up around me.” Jacen takes her finger from his mouth, and mentally prepares himself.

“I think I know why...” She moves closer to him, so that their faces are almost touching. “But, you don’t have to be so nervous.”

{cue appropriately cheesy music, and she kisses him}

Back with Jaina and Zekk.....

“All we have to do is blow up his ship, but we’ll need Tenel Ka’s passwords for the heavy weaponry,” Jaina says, going over a list of the ship’s defenses.

“She didn’t already give them to you?”

“No, she didn’t need to. Is that a problem?” She turns to look at Zekk.

“Well......I kind of told your brother about how blatantly obvious their feelings for each other were, and they went to the backroom, and we haven’t heard anything for awhile, so....” Zekk has a guilty look on his face.

“So you took the wrong time to play match-maker.” Zekk appears hurt, Jaina sees this, and continues. “But, she made the password up, so it shouldn’t be to hard to figure out. Besides, it’d be a shame to interrupt them.......yet”

Zekk grins. “Naturally. What would she have chosen for a password?”

Jaina thinks for a moment. “Well, she’s been infatuated with my brother for awhile now, so it could be his name.” {she types it in} “No, that’s not it.”

“It’d be to easy. What’s something associated with Jacen?”

Jaina thinks some more. “Animals...Jedi...Tenel Ka..... Not much else.”

“Then it’s probably an animal. What’s his favorite?”

“He doesn’t have one. Maybe it’s Tenel Ka’s favorite?”

Zekk nods. “Makes sense. What’s her favorite?”

“The crystal snake,” Jaina replies, as she types it in.

“The crystal snake? Why that one?”

“Something to do with stealth and deadliness....it worked!”

“Good. So now all we have to do is point......and shoot.” As he says this, Zekk fires some of the heavier artillery at the larger ship.

“Just have to hope that his shields aren’t very strong......” Jaina looks at the blossoming fireball that had once been a ship.

“It worked! Now what do we do?” Zekk asks, glancing towards the backroom.

“We should go back to Yavin IV, shut down the ship, lock it up, and come back tomorrow to see how they’re doing.”

“Won’t they notice it when the lights go out?”

“It’s doubtful. Or, we could just stay up here for the rest of tonight.” Jaina says, looking at him some what nervously.

“Sounds good to me.” Zekk suddenly has a very pleased expression on his face.

“To keep an eye on them, of course.” Jaina now has a similar expression on her face.

“Of course”

{cue more cheesy music, and they kiss}
