Armageddon
The Gargoyles are the property of Disney. The X-Men are the property of
Marvel Comics. Terminator is the property of Tri-Star.
This story does not take place in any particular continuity. Though it
contains two characters that I made up: Ireland, and Hotshot (X-Men), it
will not effect the continuity of any future stories I may write about them.
SCENE: The ruins of a large city.
TEXT: New York, August 28th, 2029
A WINGED FIGURE flies over the ruins of the city, towards what is left of the
Statue of Liberty. As he flies he is attacked by a flying H.K.
WINGED FIGURE
So ye want t' take me on do ye?
Let's play!
The WINGED FIGURE dodges laser fire and flies straight at the H.K. It
swerves at the last second and swipes at the H.K. with it's claws. Rips
appear in the side of the H.K. but it is still going. The winged figure
returns and pounds the H.K. Huge dents appear, and finally the H.K. falters.
WINGED FIGURE (thought)
One more ought t' do it.
(spoke)
I'm not in th' 'umor to dilly dally,
So good-bye!
With one tremendous punch the WINGED FIGURE sends the H.K. hurtling into the
rubble below resulting in a huge explosion. The WINGED FIGURE continues on
it's way and flies in to a large hole in the torch of the Statue of Liberty.
After entering, the WINGED FIGURE steps into the light. It is IRELAND, now
fully grown.
TEXT: He is IRELAND. The last surviving Gargoyle on earth.
The occupants of the room IRELAND now stands in are revealed to be:
WOLVERINE, looks the same except for some gray hairs. MACBETH, looks
exactly the same. ALEXANDER XANATOS, looks like he did in "Future Tense".
BISHOP, looks a lot like his AoA counterpart. CABLE, same, just older.
CANNONBALL, fully grown, long blond hair. HOTSHOT, fully grown, no patch
over his eye, bald. DOUGLOCK, looks the same. MEGAN: Older.
TEXT: They are nearly all that remains of the heroes and villains who once
lived and fought all over the world. IRELAND, WOLVERINE, MACBETH, ALEXANDER
XANATOS, BISHOP, CABLE, CANNONBALL, HOTSHOT, DOUGLOCK, MEGAN. They are the
leaders of the EUROPEAN, EAST COAST, and CANADIAN HUMAN RESISTANCE groups.
MACBETH
How goes the fight on the East Coast Lad?
IRELAND
Not well. We just lost some of our most powerful
fighters.
FORGE
Who?
IRELAND
Sinister, Apocalypse,
Nate, and Holocaust.
WOLVERINE
Normally, I'd say small loss. If we win this thing
they may have caused more damage.
CABLE
But as it is, our chances of winning this thing have just
decreased.
IRELAND
What news from the European Front?
MACBETH
The same, we lost most of our super powered
people in the initial blast.
Muir Island is still secure but that's about all.
IRELAND
Any news from Avalon?
MEGAN
Not since Oberon closed the borders.
No one's seen Puck in weeks.
VOICE FROM COMM
East Coast, do you read?
This is Australian Front, over.
HOTSHOT
We read you Dingo, what's up?
DINGO (V.O.)
Bad news mate, we just lost the pack.
HOTSHOT
All of them? Shit.
ANOTHER COMM VOICE
This is Asian Front! Can anybody hear me?
HOTSHOT
Hang in there Dingo. We've got another caller.
Hello, you're on the air.
2ND COMM VOICE
We've been ambushed! We just lost Sunfire _and_ the Hand
_and_ the Gargoyles! We need help!
HOTSHOT
Forge, tell me you've got that teleporter up
and running!
FORGE makes final adjustment.
FORGE
Got it!
HOTSHOT
Then get them out of there!
2ND COMM VOICE
Hurry! They're...AHHHIEEEE!

HOTSHOT
Asian front come in! Asian front do you read?
(slams his fist down on Th. console)
Damn!
YET ANOTHER COMM VOICE
Yo! Eastern Front to Control can you hear me
Major Tom?
HOTSHOT
Loud and clear Jubilee. I hope you've got
better news than the Asian Front.
JUBILEE (V.O.)
I don't want to know. If you guys are done
we could use some back up here!
FORGE
Have Voght report here immediately. (to room)
Hotshot, Ireland, Alex, as soon as
Amelia gets here, I'm teleporting you directly
to the battle. I'd better get the rest of you home.
SCENE: Central Park, 2029
A huge battle, Cyborgs, H.K.'s soldiers human and mutant are all over.
Wreckage and bodies litter the ground. Some bodies we can make out the
details of: ELISA MAZA, DARK BEAST, SUGAR MAN and THE HUNTER.
JUBILEE and MONET lead the humans and mutants against the machine army.
MONET has short hair, and is wearing a red head band. JUBILEE has long hair
tied up in a bun on the back of her head. She wears a strip of yellow cloth
tied around her upper arm, all that remains of her trademark yellow trench
coat. Both women are fully grown. MONET rips apart CYBORGS with her bare
hands while dodging laser blasts. JUBILEE has obviously gained mastery over
her power, instead of fireworks, she causes H.K.'s to explode. Despite this
apparent success, they are hard pressed. Most of their powerful soldiers
are dead.
MONET
Jubilee, we must fall back!
JUBILEE
We already fell back M! If we fall back
again we've lost!
MONET
Then, my friend we will either die here, or-
OFF PANEL VOICE
Or nothing!
ALEX, IRELAND and HOTSHOT have arrived.
HOTSHOT
Jubilee watch your back!
HOTSHOT sends a heat blast into the head of the CYBORG that had managed to
sneak up on JUBILEE.
JUBILEE
Bout time you got here lover.
HOTSHOT
Well you took your own sweet time
asking for reinforcements.
MONET
You call this reinforcements? Now if you
could save the flirting for after the battle?
JUBILEE
Monet, I swear, once this is over,
I'm going to find you a man!
A smile exchanged between MONET and JUBILEE coupled with the good natured
bantering reveals what good friends the two have become.
HOTSHOT
Ireland, Alex-
OFF PANEL VOICE
Help me!
A HUMAN SOLDIER is running towards the group. He is unarmed and being
chased by a flying H.K.
JUBILEE
Shit! Alex shoot that thing down!
ALEX takes aim, but we see that he is aiming at the HUMAN not the H.K.
HOTSHOT notices.
HOTSHOT
Alex what the hell?
ALEX fires, blowing off the top of the HUMAN'S head, reveling circuitry. The
TERMINATOR keeps coming. Two more shots bring it down.
ALEX
Terminator.
HOTSHOT
(doesn't miss a beat)
Now as I was saying, Ireland, Alex, Monet,
take any flyers and give us some air support against
those flying H.K.s.
Jubilee, let's you and me gather up any
earth bound super's we can find and take care of these
ground H.K.s. The others seem to be
Doing okay against the cyborgs.
JUBILEE
Right.
(into radio)
Keep at um Bluestone!
JUBILEE and HOTSHOT, set upon the H.K.s and are soon joined by RACHEL
SUMMERS.
JUBILEE
Thanks for the assist Rach, but we need you
against those flying assholes!
RACHEL SUMMERS flies up to battle the flying H.K.s
JUBILEE
(while dodging laser fire)
Look at us! Almost like a family again!
HOTSHOT
Yeah, I hope the kids are okay!
SCENE: Underground bunker.
TEXT: Los Angeles California, Human Resistance Headquarters
JOHN CONNOR sits at his desk, outlining a mission to THOMAS RILEY, HULK and
LOGAN & REBECCA DAVIDSON. JOHN is a skinny, but hard man in his forties.
HULK'S hair is white but he is otherwise unchanged. LOGAN and REBECCA are
twins. LOGAN is deaf but has a cybernetic implant behind his ear that
allows him to hear. They both have brown hair and green eyes. THOMAS RILEY
is a man in his late forties, he has smile lines, but his face is otherwise
untouched by the ravages of time. Despite his age he is a very quick and
spry man.
JOHN
Take as many volunteers as you need,
good luck. If this succeeds we may just beat these
metal motherfuckers today.
SCENE: Ruined City.
TEXT: Phoenix Arizona.
JUGGERNAUT, BLOB and many soldiers stand in the middle of trashed machines.
JUGGERNAUT
Well that didn't take very long.
JUGGERNAUT looks just like he always did. Any wounds he received in the
battle have healed, but they have scarred.
JUGGERNAUT
(Observing his scars and the burns on the
BLOB)
These machines are gettin' tougher though.
SCENE: A dead rainforest.
TEXT: Guatemala 2029
A small sapling is trampled by an H.K. Suddenly, the H.K. begins to glow
with heat. A second later it is blown apart by a blast from the air. A
wider view reveals: SUNSPOT and many soldiers battling the machines.
SCENE: a ruined Mexican village
TEXT: Mexico, 2029
The attacking machines are shaken apart by a much older Rictor.
SCENE: The Red Square.
TEXT: Moscow, 2029
An enraged COLOSSUS tears apart an H.K.
SCENE: The coast of Muir Isle.
TEXT: Scotland, 2029
DOUGLOCK, MEGAN and MACBETH lead the defense of Muir Isle.
SCENE: a partially destroyed mountain forest.
TEXT: Quebec, Canada, 2029
WOLVERINE, CABLE, BISHOP, and CANNONBALL, along with SASQUATCH battle
cyborgs.
SCENE: Dark room
TEXT: New York City, Morlock Tunnels, 2029
JUBILEE sits at a desk lit by a flashlight hanging from the ceiling. She is
writing something. On a battery powered computer.
TEXT: Jubilation Lee, one of the only surviving members of Generation X.
She has taken it on herself record the names of the dead, so that one day
they can be remembered.

JUBILEE sits staring sadly at the screen. A single tear trickles down her
face.
SCENE: The interior of an old army truck. There is a large gun mounted on
the back. THOMAS, HULK and LOGAN & REBECCA are in the truck. THOMAS is
driving.
TEXT: En route to NORAD
HULK
Friends sure this will work?
LOGAN
(thought)
I still remember dad's face when Hulk
first called him friend. He looked about ready
to shit his pants.
(spoken)
Nothing's sure anymore Hulk. But this is
our best chance at beating these things.
THOMAS
(thought)
And maybe our last chance.
REBECCA
I think it'll work. With Logan's ability
to cloak us from the machines' sensors,
we should be able to get to NORAD safely.
Once there, I'll use my mutant ability to
manipulate complex machinery to get us in.
Then, Hulk and Thomas will get us past the
security systems. Then I'll use my mutant power
of computer infection to destroy Sky-Net.
The truck pulls to a stop in front of a heavily guarded steel door. HULK,
THOMAS, LOGAN and REBECCA get out of the truck.
REBECCA
All right get ready, once we're
inside our cover will be blown.
HULK
But Hulk thought friend Logan made us invisible.
LOGAN
Even my simple power has it's limits Hulk.
I can only cloak us as long as they're
unsuspecting. Once they know we're here
my power will no longer be effective.
THOMAS
Damn. Nothing's ever easy anymore,
is it.
HULK
Hulk don't mind. Hulk love to smash
puny robots.
THOMAS
Don't we all.
They walk safely past the robots towards the door. Once there, REBECCA
places her hand over the control panel. The door begins to open.
REBECCA
Got it!
The Cyborgs and H.K.s surrounding the entrance turn towards them.
THOMAS
Time for you know what Hulk.
As laser fire glances harmlessly off of HULK, he grins.
HULK
Puny robot's can't hurt Hulk! Hulk
strongest one there is!
Hulk Smash!
HULK makes short work of the machines. But more show up.
THOMAS
Catch up when you can Hulk!
(to LOGAN & REBECCA)
Let's go!
LOGAN holds a small hand held computer that shows him the plans of the
former military base.
LOGAN
We need to go all the way down!
THOMAS
(while shooting oncoming cyborgs)
Great! Where are the stairs?
LOGAN
This way!
LOGAN leads them down a passage way. THOMAS shoots any cyborgs that come
after them. There are a lot.
THOMAS
(thought)
I agree with John that a small group has a better
chance than a large one,
But some reinforcements would be nice right about now.
THOMAS continues to cover them, now shooting wall mounted sentry guns and
other such security devices. They soon reach the stairs.
THOMAS
Is it just me, or does this seem a bit too easy
to either of you?
LOGAN
Yes it does. But we've come too far to quit now.
SCENE: Subterranean room
TEXT: Muir Isle research center. European Front Headquarters.
A very old but tough MOIRA MCTAGGART sits in a wheel chair speaking to
MACBETH via communications.
MACBETH
It looks bad Miora! They've broken through our
coastal defenses!
MOIRA
Can ye stop them?
MACBETH
I don't know. Ye'd better evacuate.
MOIRA
We'll not lose. I dinnae beat the
bloody Legacy Virus just te
be killed by some bloody
robots.
SCENE: The remains of the Statue of Liberty.
TEXT: East Coast Front command center
VOGHT and FORGE and several Human soldiers hold off a small army of machines.
SCENE: NORAD
TEXT: NORAD Control Room
The Sky-net computer sits in the center of the room. The door to the room
burst's open.
THOMAS enters first. Suddenly a Terminator appears from the shadows and
knocks the gun from his hand. The Terminator grabs THOMAS and throws him
across the room. While the Terminator is distracted, LOGAN
picks up the discarded gun and aims it at the Terminator. But he is forced
to fend off more cyborgs that are attempting to come into the room. THOMAS
is left to fend for himself.
REBECCA
(thought)
Looks like it's up to me.
She runs towards the computer, but runs into a force field. She closes her
eyes and concentrates, and the field drops. She gets to Sky-net and places
her hand on it.
SCENE: Cyberspace.
TEXT: Inside Sky-Net
REBECCA travels through the computer mainframe of sky-net. An anti virus
program that looks a lot like a Steel Clan Robot attacks her. She defeats
it and moves on. Then she is attacked by several Sentinels. Her Mutant
power deactivates them. Finally she comes upon the CPU. MASTER MOLD.
MASTER MOLD
You have come to destroy me have you.
REBECCA
What was your first clue?
MASTER MOLD
Your attempt at humor is almost as
pathetic as your attempt to defeat me.
REBECCA
Really? I think we're doing quite well.
MASTER MOLD
Not true. Even now my machines have over run
your European and East Coast Headquarters.
REBECCA
(looks distressed)
You're lying!
MASTER MOLD
I am a machine. I do not lie.
That is a human failing.
A Steel Clan Robot appears and grabs her, pinning her arms.
MASTER MOLD
Witness the end of the age of Humans.
A series of Images where we see DAVID XANATOS shaking hands with a the new
president of the United States, GRAYDON CREED, BASTION meeting with XANATOS.
REBECCA
Very impressive, but why did you abandon the
Sentinel design?
MASTER MOLD
(Human voice)
Quite simply my dear,
MASTER MOLD fades away and is replaced by....
CAMERON HODGE!
HODGE
I got bored with them.
SCENE: Out side the computer.
LOGAN is forced to fall back slightly, the Terminator has THOMAS by the neck
and is holding him off the ground.
SCENE: Cyberspace
TEXT: Cameron Hodge, he dedicated his life to destroying mutants. And after
his death, he was no longer so specific.
HODGE
After the X-Men defeated the Phalanx
I existed as pure energy, data to be stored.
Finally I found a worthy container for me,
this Sky-Net computer.
REBECCA smiles.
REBECCA
That's all I needed to know.
The Steel Clan Robot vanishes, HODGE panics.
HODGE
No!
Several Sentinels appear, but REBECCA passes right through them.
HODGE tries to escape, but REBECCA catches him and grabs him. HODGE slowly
begins to fade away.
HODGE
No! It cant' end like this! I
won't let it!
TEXT: He has only seconds before the virus runs it's course, but seconds are
all he needs.
SCENE: The time displacement chamber. The machines activate.
SCENE: Outside the computer.
The Terminator stops, releasing THOMAS. The cyborgs stop just before
reaching LOGAN. REBECCA awakens.
SCENE: Muir Isle coast.
MACBETH, MEGAN and DOUGLOCK stare dumbfounded at the suddenly frozen
machines.
SCENE: Muir Isle control center.
Moira holds a gun on a inoperative, battle damaged, Terminator.
SCENE: Liberty Torch
FORGE, and VOGHT smile, they know what's just happened.
SCENE: HOTSHOT'S and JUBILEE'S quarters.
JUBILEE is kissing HOTSHOT on the bed. JUBILEE caresses his head.
JUBILEE
I miss your hair.
HOTSHOT
Tell me about it.
They kiss again.
COMM VOICE
Jubilee! Will!
JUBILEE
M, you have got the worst timing!
MONET (V.O.)
Shut up! Just get out here!
You have got to see this!
SCENE: The Morlock tunnels.
HOTSHOT and JUBILEE rush from their quarters. On their way to the surface,
they pass an old, decrepit....
HOWARD THE DUCK.
HOWARD
What the hell's the commotion?
HOTSHTOT
Your guess is as good as mine Howie.
SCENE: New York.
HOTSHOT and JUBILEE run outside just in time to see an undamaged flying
H.K. fall to the ground.
HOTSHOT
Dear god, Lee. Do you realize what's
just happened?
JUBILEE
I ain't blind Will.
BOTH
We did it!
JUBILEE leaps into HOTSHOT'S arms as they laugh with joy.
