One False Step

On a good day you can be a little ignorant and condescending.

That's my favourite line in the entire episode. I don't know why, that's just the way it is.

May I take this time to approve the writers decision to use strange nude men all in white for their choice of the alien of the week. I must say I enjoyed them greatly.

Personally, I think that the fact that there wasn't *really* an evil plague brought to this planet by some organism we are immune and it was just a little problem with the foliage is the easy way out. I would have rather have had Ebola or the Black Plauge. But maybe that's just me and my little thing with diseases.

I loved the tension between Jackson and O'Neill. We haven't seen anything that good since maybe The Broca Divide . And The Broca Divide didn't even have the word condescending in it! I've always prefered tension between Jackson and O'Neill instead of friendship. Well, not 'friendship' per se, but I like them better as North Pole / South Pole, instead of being about ready to burst into Amigos Para Siempre. Although afterwords when they were in the infirmary and both were feeling guilty about what they said and neither really had to say anything about it was good too.

The CGI plants were great, and very well done. I started thinking about Jack and the Beanstalk for some strange reason when I saw those, and for a brief moment entertained the thought of Daniel climbing up them and finding a castle in the clouds complete with very large people and a golden harp. But then the plants went back into the ground dragging all my hopes and dreams along with them. Sigh.

Carter rather sheepishly admitted to talking to her plants. What's so wrong with that? I talk to things all the time. Whether at home, or in public on the streets talking to Frankie, my little imaginary hamster. Nobody seems to pay me any mind, so why she should be so ashamed of something as little as plants , is beyond me.
