Disclaimer: Obviously, this is not mine. I'm just a slightly obsessive fan o the show and movie (hey! It was funny!).

Part One

The Slayer was patrolling in the park, where people had been being jumped. The attacks didn't sound demonic, but Giles suggested she check it out anyway just to try not to terminally injure him/her if it was human. Take away her fun! There was a sound coming from a nearby bush.

"'Bout time," she muttered as she checked it out. Vampire, not the "person" she was looking for...but it gave her something to do.

A few minutes later a masked guy with a big knife demanded her money or her life, or both if he felt like it. Buffy gave a sigh and grabbed the knife right out of the goon's hand. She then gave a right-left punch and held the guy's arm behind his back, a twitch from breaking it. Well, the goon didn't like this, as he showed with his obscene comments and howling.

"Hey! Shut up before I break your arm! And stop struggling or I'll have to knock you out and drag you to the police station," Buffy warned.

"You couldn't if you tried!" he argued. Buffy countered that by dislocating his shoulder, so after the scream was finished the guy complied.

"Good. Now walk," the slayer prodded and they set off for the police station. Buffy pushed him through the door and handed him and his knife over. She was questioned on what happened and she told the truth, more or less. The cops seemed a bit disbelieving that she did all that herself, though.

Back at the Summers house, Buffy was chatting with her mom, "Say, you know how people have been getting jumped in Weatherly park?"

"Yes, why do ask?" Joyce answered, though she had an idea what it was.

"Not anymore, but I know for a fact that resetting that dislocated shoulder will be painful," the Slayer answered while grabbing a snack. She went up to room and was about to get ready for bed when Angel showed up at her window.

"Hi Angel, back to old habits I see," she said.

"Uh, sorry, if you don't want me to-" Angel was cut off by the kiss Buffy planted on him. "I take that as a no, but Giles and Wesley the rookie need you in the library. They said something about a new vampire kingpin wannabe, or that's how Xander so eloquently put it."

"Well, I was getting bored lately," Buffy said with a sigh as she climbed of her window with her beloved.

Sunnydale High library

"So, my friends and current official Watcher, what's up?" the Slayer asked.

"We've gotten wind that a fairly nasty gang of vampires was heading to Sunnydale. What we know about them is that a few are pretty old, the leaders, and that they're quite finicky about who gets to join. But those who are turned and allowed in, though other vampires can join as well, are taught decent sword fighting. The main leader is an excellent sword fighter and is believed to be about 400 years old," Wesley informed her.

"This will be tricky...good thing I'm a good sword fighter myself," Buffy commented.

"Yeah, and I'm an even better one!" Angel added.

"Why do you say that?" Buffy asked, looking slightly insulted.

"Well, I have had a bit more experience ... oh, and remember when we sword fought when I was evil?"

"Yes, quite well," she countered while suffering bad revelations, but then she continued the game with, "I was about to lob your head off."

"Ha! I would've dodged, besides, before that I disarmed you, knocked you down, and had my sword heading straight for your head!"

"And I caught it in midair, threw it off, grabbed my sword, disarmed you, and was going to behead you! You could have never dodged."

"That's what you-" he was cut off by Giles saying, "Will you two stop bickering about the past? We have present problems here.

"He's right, we need to focus," Wesley agreed. What no one said, but everyone was thinking was that that little argument gave everyone a much better idea about how that night had gone down.

Willow, speaking up for the first time, said, "I'll search the net," and Oz said, "I'll take the other computer." Giles and Wesley tackled the books while Xander announced that he'd grab some research snacks, namely doughnuts, and Buffy and Angel hit the streets.

More, soon.
