The Plains

You continue on your lonely tour through the plains, absently waiting for the next sentient to make itself known. By now you've come to realize that any creature living here would choose the time and place of any meeting. After twenty minutes of walking in which nothing shows itself you begin to wonder if anything at all lives in this area. It's another ten minutes before you get the feeling that you're being watched. Refusing to turn around to look you continue to walk.

Gold Splash

A noise from behind makes your fears seem less silly and you spin around. Standing there studying you with distaste in it's dark violet eyes is a brilliantly colored unicorn. "What are you doing here, Hume?" He demands. This close his, for a rumble that deep could only belong to a male, voice resembles thunder. His mane and the tuft on the end of his lion tail are the same color as his eyes, a deep purple. His body is gold in color with blue splotches splattered liberally over his frame. Four perfectly even white socks are topped in black. You're unable to resist stumbling back from the imposing figure, and the spiral horn leveled at your chest.

Silver Leaf"Oh Gold, leave the poor Wanderer alone." Comes a decidedly exasperated female voice from behind you. Spinning around you come face to face with another unicorn. This one is slimmer and more delicate then the massive male. Her mane and tail are a ocean blue. Silver leaf shaped markings are spread over her sea green body. "I'm sure they just wandered into this area looking for the next realm creature to meet." She studies you for a moment. "Right?" She asks, eyes narrowing slightly in warning.

You nod hurriedly in agreement. "Yes, of course!" You realize that in order to keep both bright colored unicorns in sight at the same time you'll have to back up a pace. Hurriedly you do so, not wanting to leave either out of view for long.

The stallion studies you for a moment, then snorts and turns away. "Fine. I will leave them alone, assuming they don't mess with my Tarsuinn or my mares!" The last is said in the closest thing to a growl an equine can manage. With that he turns and stalks off.

You blink in surprise, shrinking back from the stallion's anger.

The mare behind you snorts. "Don't mind Gold Splash. He's a tad... over enthusiastic?" She sighs. "It's the first time he's been in charge of a Tarsuinn. He's taking it a bit too seriously." The mare frowns after the stallion, who is walking away radiating fury. "Come along, Wanderer. You can meet the rest of the Tarsuinn." She starts to move away, following the path of Gold Splash.

You blink. "Tarsuinn?" Is your single word inquiry as you try to figure out what you've wandered into here.

The mare stops to blink at you. "Asrire Tarsuinn?" She sighs at your blank look. "We're Asrire Unicorns, Asrire gather in Tarsuinns." She pauses, then continues on, seeing that you don't quite get it yet. "Like a horse herd." She says, as if making the comparison was painful beyond belief.

"Oh!" You say.

The mare snorts again, rolling her eyes at your density. "Come along now. Gold will be truly upset if you don't come visit after seeing his handsome golden self walking away." There's the faintest hint of a smirk on her face during this comment.

You blink again. "And what's your name?" You ask, having just realized that the mare had introduced Gold Splash, but not herself.

She blinks, slightly put off by her omission. "I"m SilverLeaf." She says simply, sounding faintly embarrassed.

"Right." Is your reply.

"
Come along." She repeats, turning away again.
