Mizuno Ami was a true genius. Her iq was well around 300, and computer technology was child's play to her. She was a bookworm and somewhat shy. She soon became best friends with Tsukino Usagi. You could say that Ami was quite gentle. Even Luna seemed to love Ami, and we all know that cats are picky. (Hey, maybe it was because they both had English accents.) Ami was one of the most devoted soldiers in the whole group. But why?
It was probably because it made her feel like she belonged. She spent all of her time studying, and in a way, fighting evil seemed to be one hell of a social life. You could say Ami was pressured into being a shy bookworm, but you'd have to admit that the Sailor Scouts brought her out of her shell.
But what pressured her into being a (lest I say) nerd? It was her ambition. She wanted to be a doctor. And doctors don't just fall out of the sky (unless you happen to be in L.A). She had to study and work hard to be where she was. I don't think that was really where she wanted to be. I guess that's just my opinion, but it always seemed like she wanted something more.
I'll leave you with one final thought: Why on earth is a girl living in Japan talking with an English accent? (Same goes for you, Luna.)
