Reunion
Part 17
By Christine Demerath
"Remy?" Robin felt her brother collapse and shut down as her foot came down on the back of Arclight's head. The older woman feel to the floor and Jewel turned to find her brother. Logan had the last Marauder covered, Scalphunter. And Jewel was more worried about there leader, the one that was reaching down to pick up someone.. 'Remy'. She blasted Sinister, stunning him, only pushing him back a few steps. The weird looking man moved his gaze to Robin's face. "Step away from him, Sinister." She prayed this was the right one, that this was Sinister, she didn't want to look like a total fool, kind of puts a person at a disadvantage. But she was pretty sure of herself, the man screamed danger, evil, sinister.
"I can not do that my dear, now sleep." He raised his hand and focused on her, she collapsed to the floor. Wolverine turned around and growled. Both twenty-three year olds lay on the floor, one out cold the other in a type of shock. Not good. Logan's growl echoed in the emptiness of the room. "Logan, do not presume this course of action. It's futile, you will never make it out of here with these two in such a state. Why bother harming yourself?"
"*SHINK* I feel like it." He growled leaping at Sinister. The fight actually lasted more then three minutes, but in the end Sinister won easily, blasting Logan against a computer terminal and cutting Logan's head on the edge. Blood spilled from his skull as he hit the floor. Picking up Remy, Sinister signaled for the waking Marauders to restrain Logan and bring Jewel and follow him. He didn't have the facilities in this lab that he needed to keep Logan restrained. He would take them farther, deeper into his labyrinth of mazes and tunnels. Neither of the Marauders spoke, there was something in the air around Sinister that warned them to be careful for a while. The silence was mad-driving the clicking of their boots never wreaking. Opening a airlock door he signaled for Scalphunter to bring in Jewel and place her on the cot on the other side of the small room. Remy stirred again in Sinister's arms, he hid not consciously know what was going on, he was lost in his own world now. Sinister's eyes once again melted into Nathaniel Essex's human eyes the ones that peered out for a period of time some twenty years ago. Scalphunter roughly tossed Jewel onto the cot angrily and walked out. Essex's eyes harden again.
"Watch yourself," Sinister hissed.
There wasn't much to the room, but there was no way for them to get out. Even if they would make it though the walls a force field would be in there way, everywhere. They were trapped. Sinister placed Gambit gently down on the cot. "Follow me, Michael." Sinister turned leaving the room and replaced the force field as the door closed. He moved to the center of the slight less smaller lab. Nodding to the platform that came out of the floor, 10 feet above it another emerging from the ceiling. The surface was flat the shape a circle, it's radius about 3 feet. Punching a few keys in yet another force field grid flew up around Logan. His body was lifted off the platform and he flouted a foot from the platform's surface. The green glow that surrounded him also cause people on the outside see him differently.
"Leave." The one word sent both men for the door without a moment hesitation. Checking Remy once more, whom had finally stopped shaking and fallen asleep he looked down at the boy though the field. That's all that he really was, a scared child. Disgusted with himself Sinister stomped out of his secondary lab and went to find something to examine. He didn't like thinking about feelings, his work was his life, it would continue to be. Without his work he would have never made it, it's kept him from completely losing his sanity and he would not let anything stop him from his research, but something inside him was happy, overjoyed that his daughter was alive, and the worry of a father made his stomach cringe as he imagined Remy shaking in his arms once more. He sickened himself, his own son hated him so much he was scared into shock from the knowledge that they were just that, family.

"Remy? Logan?" Robin called out into the darkness, clutching her head. "Where are you?" Then regaining her memory she remembers Remy.. Remy lying on the floor shaking. Panic rips though her and she gets up, her world spinning out of control. She grabs onto the corner of the bed as her knees hit the floor with a painful crack. A hissing sound emerging from her throat from the pain. "Remy?" She called out a little weaker but louder. Reaching out with her powers she found him lying on the other side of the cot opposite her. The buzzing in her head increased when she had the pain intensifying greatly, never the less she tried to reach Logan almost passing out in the proceeds but found a pys shield around the small room. Recomposing herself she got to her feet and swayed over to Remy's bed side. "Brother.. wake up." She nudged him but after five minutes her own eyes shut and her head lie next to his, the rest of her sitting/leaning against the cot. Her hand as a pillow.

By the time Sinister got back to his main lap Xavier had liberated his mouth of it's gag. "What have you done with them, you heartless monster?"
Sinister's eyes flashed at Xavier as he walked by and took a set at his main terminal. "I suggest you keep your month silent, Charles, I am not in the mood. I will not tolerate you very well tonight."
"I want to kn--."
"They are fine. Now if you wish to stay conscious," Sinister moves to Xavier's side. "I would not interrupt me again." Taking Xavier's jaw he forces it open and puts the gag in again. Xavier did not try and protest about the speaking, for a good three hours. He was quite, but observant he tried to read what Sinister was working and Sinister as well, but the screen was to far and Sinister's face turned. As the third hour dragged on Sinister could hear Xavier trying to get off his gag.
"What is it?" Sinister snarled. Getting up form his lain back position in his seat, stretching, and moving in front of Charles. He removed the gag roughly. He was angered but was relieved to have a short break.
"What did you do to Gambit?" Xavier demanded. He could not hold his curiously or worry back. A dark look emerged from Sinister's eyes as he pinned Charles with them. He did not respond though. The reaction caused Xavier to worry and an accusing look plastered itself on his face. "What did you d-" The back of Sinister's hand meet the Professor's face.
"I've got other things to do." He turned to leave Xavier and his lab, fury in his eyes.
"Wait.." Charles called. "A least let me see them." Sinister turned as the door opened, looked at Charles, and walked out of the room.

Within a half `n hour Sinister, despite his reaction earlier, had sent someone in to move him to another place. It took some time, but when they finally got to the lab Sinister had moved him to he was relieved. Logan was in the middle of the room, flouting in a green containment field, he was angry but his scowl disappeared for a split second into a half smile apon seeing Charles. The men set down Charles and the contraption that kept him immobilized. Their job was done they left not caring what happened next.
"Chuck." Logan acknowledged his old friend.
"Logan. What happened to Remy? Who was that woman with you? Is she the one that helped you find me?"
"Don't know where he put the kids." Wolverine was frowning. "No ones been in here since I woke, up `til just now."
"The woman?"
"It's a long story, but no Gumbo came after you. He figured it out. The girl is the Cajun's sister."
Xavier takes in the information and tries visualizing the situation and putting parts of the puzzle together without even realizing it. "Chuck." Logan called to his friend. Xavier looked up. "This ain't the time to be day dreaming we've got to get those kids and you outta here and fast."
Charles nodded in agreement. "Remy is not well."
"Ya noticed?" Logan frowned moving his gaze to the door farthest from them. "Someone's coming."

He'd heard Robin's voice, heard it though a dark haze consuming her calls slowly into nothing. But he didn't want to wake yet. Didn't want to come out of his mind, he was scared, wet, and alone. Once again he was the child that had lost his mother and sister. Robin's calls to him were cries of help, help that he couldn't give. He was afraid to face the world or more so the demon that controlled his. Today he hadn't lost just his mother and sister, today he lost his world. But the Remy that had always seemed so sure of himself came and fought the weak child within him. The battle would be long, his fear was much stronger then his pride that he showed to others. This battle had no fancy swords, kicks, bo's, moves, or powers. This battle was of the soul, and the challenge of talking a small boy out oh his fear was not easy under the circumstances. Two versions of one man stood in an endless alley of despair, the same one that the one little boy had hide in for so long locked away to be forgotten and moved passed. That now must be dealt with, the older Remy looked to the boy with sad eyes.
'Poor kid'. Not poor me but poor kid. He knelt by the crying child and pulled him close. The child's eyes went wild as he was touched, he squirmed instantly and ran to the building wall where he'd been a minute ago. The child had no trust, no confidence, or hope in his eyes for himself, the old version knew he had his work cut out for him, he had to get partially into the drivers seat. These two forms were the man that stood in from of people now-a-days, but at this moment they were split into to opposite ends of his personality and the practical and brave one wasn't the one driving. The older version of Remy was going to have to earn this child's trust.

"Sinister." Logan hissed as Essex stepped though the threshold.
"Logan, how pleasant to see you again." Sinister glared sarcastically. "I didn't expect you to come but all the same I must continue as planned and maybe even think of a use for you yet." He rubbed his chin before abruptly turning to face Xavier. "Shell we begin, Charles?" This caused a questioning gaze to emerge from Logan to Xavier. "Confused, little hairy man? As you should be." He took a deep breath, "I will be going through the long process of abstracting all the information that could be important to me from your dear mentor's head."
"What about the kid? What ya planning to do to him, this time?" A low growl follows Logan's words.
Sinister's eyes darken threateningly at Logan. "I'd advise yo..." he stops in mid-though. His face changed to an unreadable, emotionless gaze. "They should concern you not, your own fate is in the balance." His steely gaze attempted to pin Logan. "And as you mentioned them I guess I should check on them." With a thought the door five paces behind him opened. The force field still intact. A attractive woman stood in the doorway light and moved to the opening after the light washed over her.
"I'll kill you." Robin stated from behind the force-field, rage in her eyes but still keeping her anger under control. To this Sinister raises an eyebrow.
"Oh really, behind that glowing wall you will do nothing, but why I ask, would you want to do such a thing?" His evil grin returning.
"Why? Look! Look what you've done!" Her one arm points at Remy, her murderous gaze never leaving Sinister's face. "He's still gone, you may have killed him and I'm going to repay the favor." Her eyes were now more hysterical and wild. She meant it. If her brother died, Sinister would be next.
