Chapter 6

One of Those Days

As Malachite exited the portal, he found himself in the plush interior of Erkyte's spaceship. He looked around carefully. It was the passenger part of the ship; Jedaite and Zoeisite were already buckling up thier seats, both looking out the windows at the barren wastelands. Snow blew past the windows, yet the ship was warm, almost cozy. He saw Erkyte through the open door of the cockpit.

Malachite started forward. Jedaite turned from the window, nodding at him gravely. Zoeisite smiled warmly at Malachite, and he paused on his way up to the cockpit to kiss her gently on the forehead, and squeeze her hand. He entered the cockpit, which was, like the rest of the ship, a dark grey. Erkyte, who was working the control panel, a mass of buttons, switches, and levers, looked over at him, and gestured him to the co-pilot seat.

Malachite threw himself into the chair, and buckled himself into the seat. Erkyte pressed a bright blue button, that turned green. They feltthe rear engines flare, and start. Erkyte pulled a lever on his left, and the ship began to rise. It was then that Erkyte choose to speak.

"You destroyed the cavern, didn't you?" he said quietly, glancing over at the white haired general.

Malachite glanced back, and nodded. Erkyte sighed, then said "Well, I can't really blame you...god knows I wanted to do that often enough over the past years..." He paused and smiled. "Except...I wanted Beryl to be there..." he added dryly.

Malachite laughed silently. Erkyte grinned again, and pulled another lever. The ship began to thrust itself forward, cutting through the snow filled winds like a black knife. Malachite shifted in the chair, and asked "Will Metallia be angry?" His cold blue eyes looked worried.

Erkyte was silent for a moment, then replied slowly, "Why would she? The cavern was destroyed by the backdraft of the ship's engines. Totally unforeseen..." He smiled again, the skin around his green eyes crinkling at the edges. Malachite smiled as well.

"Thank you.." he murmered, "Most of the Commanders back in the Negaverse would of used the opportunity to move up their ranks.." Erkyte shrugged.

"What good would it do me NOW?" he said, "Besides, I prefer my actions to speak for my promotions, not my ability to rat someone out..."

Malachite nodded, and smiled bitterly. "Funny, those were the abilities that kept me in power so long..." he said cooly.

"And look where they got you..." added Erkyte, with a cool look of his own. "Dead, buried, and forgotten." he said, looking out of the front viewplate.

Malachite thought about this for a couple of minutes, then ventured to speak again. "Where are our new headquarters?" he asked calmly. Erkyte twisted a knob, and smiled at his companion.

"Three guesses, and the first two don't count." he said in an amused tone. Malachite put his index fingers together, and smiled again.

"I would have to go with...Tokyo?" he said quietly. Erkyte applauded him softly.

"Very good guess...we'll be there around 11 am, in their time zone.." said Erkyte.

Malachite frowned. "Why is it going to take so long? Is this ship that much of a hunk of junk?" he asked calmly. Erkyte laughed quietly.

"Noooo, I have to avoid the mortal's radar. That means going slower, and staying closer to the ground." Erkyte replied, still grinning. Malachite nodded with approval.

"Sounds good to me.." said Malachite. He yawned, and leaned back in his seat. He closed his eyes, and in a few minutes, was asleep. Erkyte looked over and grinned.

"And here I thought I'd have some fascinating conversation..." he said with a chuckle, as the ship left the Artic, and started it's long trek over the ocean to Tokyo. 'Yet another boring trip', Erkyte thought with a sigh. It was going to be one of those days....

A bright Saturday dawned on Tokyo. The sun shone through the Tokyo Tower, and many people were still, as it was the weekend, sleeping peacefully. Well, some were sleeping peacefully...

"Noooooo...nooooo...." muttered Serena. It was happening all over again, the running through the palace, her mother and Beryl intermixed.

Then she saw the girl...and her heart broke...

"NOOOOOOO!!!" Serena screamed, shooting up straight. Luna was up like a shot, and Serena's mother came running in a moment later. Luna cut off her spoken comment about being awakened so abruptly, and managed a weak meow.

"Serena! Are you all right?" asked her mother, as she sat down on the bed next to her daughter. Serena managed a weak smile.

"I'm fine Mom...just a bad dream. What time is it?", Serena asked quietly, rubbing her eyes and glancing at the clock.

"It's around 9:30...are you sure you're all right, sweetie?", her mother asked again. She looked at Serena's pale and drawn face. Serena got up and pulled her mother to her feet, and started to push her out the door.

"I'm fiiiine Mom! And I'm starving!! Could you...um, make me a big breakfast? I've gotta alot of shopping to do today with my friends! And I'll need my energy!", she said hurriedly, shooting her mother a big grin that said 'Don't Worry!'. Which of course, caused her mother to worry even more. However, before she could say another word, Serena shut the door solidly behind her.

"Well, okay dear...", her mother said puzzled. She went reluctantly downstairs to make Serena some breakfast. 'Something is up with her again...', she thought with a sigh. There were certain parts of Serena's life that her parents thought they would NEVER find out about.

Serena slide down the door, and wiped her brow with relief. Luna padded over to her. "The same dream, Serena?" the cat asked with concern. Serena sighed and nodded.

"I just don't get it, Luna...I mean, who is that girl? And why did...betray us?", said Serena, as she stood in front of her closet and pulled a pair of white stretch pants, and a pink and white checkered shirt with a rabbit on the pocket. She changed quickly, and pulled on white sneakers. She then sat down and took down her 'meatballs'. The cat watched while Serena brushed her long blond hair out.

"I don't really know Serena. If I was having the dream...perhaps I would be able to understand...but for once..the dreams aren't coming to Artemis or I..." Luna frowned deeply, then said "Well, just keep your eyes peeled today. As we've all learned, from one youma..."

"..Comes many more." chorused Serena, pulling her hair back up, and tying them with pink ribbon. "Are you and Artemis going to be following us today?" she asked, as she put on the last part of her ensemble, the Moon Locket.

The cat nodded and said, "Of course...we'll keep our eyes peeled as well...". She watched as Serena sighed in relief, shot a smile at Luna, and hopped down the stairs for breakfast. Luna sat in the room for a moment longer, frowning.

'She's actually relieved we're going to be there...this dream has her more shaken up that she wants to admit...' she thought, 'I'm going to tell Artemis we have to be EXTRA observant today...' The Moon Cat sighed. It looked like it was going to be one of those days....

Felicissa stepped nervously into the arcade, and looked around. She had her hair pulled back in a loose ponytail, and was dressed simply in jeans and a grey sweatshirt that matched her eyes. She fingered her pendant, and walked forward. She looked around for Darien, and suddenly ran into someone. "Hey, watch it there Miss!" said a blond haired man about her age, if not a little older. He wore a white apron and looked like he worked there.

"Oh, I'm sorry...I didn't meant to run into you. I'm just looking for someone, and they aren't here yet apparently..." she said with a sheepish grin. The man looked at her and snapped his fingers.

"Are you Felicissa?" he asked, smiling. She nodded her head, puzzled. How did he know her name? The man grinned at her confusion, and said, "Oh don't worry, I didn't read your mind or anything...I'm Andrew, Darien's friend. He said you were stopping by to wait for him, and I should keep an eye on you."

Felicissa racked her brain, and suddenly said, "That's right, you're the up and coming medical student, right?" He smiled.

"Yup, that would be me...listen, I'm going to sit you down at the table with one of Serena's friends...you know about Serena right? Right. Well, her name is Molly, and believe it or not..." he said with a laugh, "I'm supposed to look out for her too.." Felicissa laughed.

"Guess you're stuck with babysitting duty today, huh?" she said gaily, as she followed Andrew into the cafe above the arcade. Andrew laughed.

"Yeah...but it's okay. Darien's a good friend, and so is Serena. I'm glad to do a favor for either one of them. God only knows they've both been there for me when I needed them..." Andrew said, as he lead her over to a large table, where there sat, amazingly enough, another red haired girl. Her hair, however, was cropped short, and pulled halfway back with a ribbon, and she looked more around the age of 14. She turned around and looked at Andrew and Felicissa, smiling.

"Hello there! I'm Molly...Andrew said I was going have a companion soon..." she said quietly. Her blue eyes shone brightly, and she gestured a seat to Felicissa. Felicissa was surprised by her accent, it sounded like she was from Brooklyn, New York. 'At least one parent from there, I would think..', she thought to herself.

Molly looked at Felicissa closely. 'So this is Darien's new friend... Man, if I was Serena, I'd be worried...' she thought. A bitter smile passed her lips. But she wasn't Serena; she didn't 'have' this great boyfriend. She sighed, and thought of how a week ago Melvin had dumped her for that nerdy girl with the fettish for grasshoppers. She shook herself, and said to herself, 'Snap out of it girl...you were pratically grinning when it happened. No more prune milkshakes...but to get dumped by Melvin of all people...'

Felicissa was chatting to Andrew for a minute or two, and laughing, they turned there attention back to Molly. Andrew said, "Can I get you girls anything? Burger? Shake?"

Felicissa declined, but Molly asked very firmly for the BIGGEST chocolate shake he could make. Andrew looked at Felicissa, who raised an eyebrow. "Coming right up, Molly..." he said, and jogged off.

"The biggest?", asked Felicissa, "Wow, you must be starving!" 'She's young!' she thought. 'She can't be more than fourteen...which means Serena is about the same age. If I didn't know that Darien was an honorable guy...', she shook off that thought.

Molly smiled. "Actually, I just want to get the taste of taste of 'prune' out of my mouth..." she said. Felicissa looked at her puzzled. Prune? Why would Molly be eating prunes?

"Ahhhh, okay..." she said slowly. Just then, Darien walked in. Dressed in his favorite green jacket, black turtle neck and pants, he caught the eye of every girl in the room. He grinned and waved, then started over to the table. Felicissa and Molly waved back, and giggled watching every girl turn around with hearts in their eyes. Darien came up, and sat next to Molly.

"What's so funny?" he queried. He looked himself over for a stain, or if his fly was open, which caused every girl to drool, and Felicissa and Molly to laugh even more. He just looked at them and shook his head ruefully. "Women..." he muttered under his breath.

He settled himself in, as Felicissa and Molly calmed themselves down. Just then, Andrew arrived with Molly's shake, and he and Andrew exchanged a few pleasantries. All the girls, faced with two gorgeous hunks, for the price of one, simply fainted over their hot fudge sundaes. Felicissa grinned at Molly, who returned it. It looked like today was going to be one of those very amusing days...

Serena pulled her friends along. "I can't believe you all overslept!" she wailed, "Darien and Molly are going to be sooooo mad!!" She glared at them all. When she had buzzed them with the communicator, she expected at least Ami to be up. However, Ami had pulled a late nighter trying to figure out the dreams, and had fallen asleep at her computer.

Then the nightmare struck. Malachite's voice, the sword swinging towards her...She had awoken screaming from her nightmare by the comminicator beeping, as did the other Scouts. When Serena had awoken her, Ami suddenly had the answer. They were discussing it while running to the arcade. Serena frowned as she ran, and said to Ami, "So you think the girl is a reincarnation of Beryl?"

Ami shrughed and kept jogging. "So far, she's the only woman I can remember in the old days to have red hair..." she said calmly.

Lita shook her head, "But that makes no sense...why would Beryl be crying? Or feeling guilty about what she did?"

Raye laughed, and said, "The old hag finally got a heart?"

Mina giggled, and added, "Naaaaah, if she had one in the first place, Serena would of blasted it out of her! Especially after she tried to get Darien to fall in love with her!!"

Serena grinned, "Darn skippy! No one takes my Muffin away without a fight!"

All the Scouts laughed as they turned the corner to the arcade. Ami said, "Well, you didn't let me finish. Maybe...maybe we unconciously MADE Beryl aplogize to us."

All the girls stopped and looked at Ami. Raye said thoughtfully, "You mean, we made up the girl, I mean Beryl, to somehow try and get her to retify what she did to us? Have her apologize in our dreams?"

Serena gasped, "Yes! That makes so much sense! It was just ummmm, our unconcious fears and anger coming out in dream form!!" Now it was Serena's turn to be stared at.

"Where the heck did you come up with that, Serena?" asked Mina, amazed. Serena shurgged, and grinned.

"Whenever I'm over at Darien's, and he's busy fussing over his roses, I gotta have something to do. So...I read some of his schoolbooks. I picked that little phrase from a guy named Freud..." she said with a smirk.

Raye smiled evilly, and said, "Gee Serena, you actually read words? I thought you just looked at the pictures, like my mangas..." Serena's eyes narrowed, and she ran after Raye screaming, as Raye ducked into the arcade. The rest of the scouts looked at each other, and sighed. They entered after them.

Following on the rooftops, a small white cat and small black cat jumped unto the roof of the arcade. They looked at each other, and sighed deeply. It was going to be one of those days...

Felicissa looked up at the clock on the wall, and frowned. "It's eleven...where is everyone else? I mean, should we be worried that Serena and the others aren't here yet?" she said, her eyebrows knitted.

Darien looked at Molly, Molly looked over at Andrew, and Andrew glanced at Darien. They all snorted. "Felicissa, I love Serena dearly...but she's ALWAYS late! Very undepenadable..." said Darien with a sigh.

Molly shook her head, and said, "Yeah, Serena can be a *real* ditz sometimes..."

Andrew added, "A sweet girl...but not much on the brains department..." He tapped his head for emphasis. Felicissa was about to protest browbeating a girl who wasn't even here to defend herself, when she saw a group of four girls approaching. Apparently, they had heard every word and were heading speedily over.

The tallest of the girls was dressed in a pair of tan slacks, and a green sweater. A pair of rose earrings hung from her ears, and her long brown hair was pulled back into a ponytail, with wisps falling past her ears. Her green eyes flashed with interest.

The next tallest was a dark haired girl, dressed a red skirt, and a red and black striped shirt. Her long dark hair was shiny and gorgeous, falling like a black waterfall down her back, and her dark purplish eyes looked amused.

The next girl had long silky blond hair, and like the dark haired girl, it fell down to her waist. Her hair was half way pulled up with a red ribbon, and she was dressed in a orange jumpsuit, with a white shirt underneath. Her blue eyes glowed, and she grinned at Felicissa, holding her finger to her lips, in a gesture of SHHHHHH.

The fourth girl was dressed in a long dark blue skirt, and a light blue sweater, and carried a thick book. She brushed short bluish hair out of her eyes, also blue, that flashed with laughter. All the girls parted for a ANOTHER blond girl, who was ever so...*enraged*.

Smaller than the others, she was dressed all in pink and white. Her aquamarine eyes were slitted, and her face was purple with anger. She was probably quite pretty when her face wasn't scrunched up like a raisin. However, most amazing thing about her was her hair.

'Oh_my_goodness...he wasn't lying...MEATBALLS!! With long pigtails like spagetti too' Felicissa thought with amusement. She noticed that the others at her table hadn't noticed the girls yet. She mouthed the words 'They don't know you're here...give me a minute, and they'll regret every word they said..."

Felicissa smiled innocently at Darien, Molly, and Andrew, who were facing away from the girls, totally oblivious. "You know...I better review what I know about her before I make any judgments about her character...she likes pink, right?"

Molly looked surprised, and said "Yeah, she loves it! Sometimes I think she doesn't wear anything else but!" Molly thought to herself, 'But what has that to do with anything?'

Felicissa continued, watching Serena look at her with a confused gaze, "Is she a blond? She sounds like a blond..."

Andrew grinned, "Yeah...she's the original ditzy blond." Darien and Molly chuckled. So did the other four girls. Serena looked like she was going to blow a gasket. She mouthed the words, 'This had better be good!' to Felicissa.

Felicissa mouthed back quickly, 'It will be...' She put her arms on the table, and leaned forward, and added the last statement, "Now Darien, when you said meatballs...did you mean she wore her hair in cute little buns and long pigtails?"

Darien looked at her baffled, "Yeah...good guess. Hey, what does this have to do with Serena's character?" Felicissa leaned forward, and sipped some of Molly shake. She winked at Serena and the rest of her entourage. She sat back and smiled again.

"Ohhhhhh, nothing really. It's just that she's right behind you now, and I can ask her myself..." she finished. Darien, Molly, and Andrew all looked at each out of the corner of their eyes, and slowly turned around. The horrified looks on all three of their faces when they looked at Serena was enough for the other four girls to start cracking up. Felicissa covered her mouth to hide her wide grin. Serena's smile at them was a cold one.

"Uhhhh...Hi...Serena..." the three culprits said ashamedly. Grinning, Felicissa decided to save them from the wrath of Serena. She jumped up, and shook Serena's hand firmly.

"Hello Serena..." said Felicissa, trying to catch her breath from laughing so much, "I'm Felicissa, Darien's friend." Raye froze, and stared suspiciously at Felicissa's red hair for a moment, but just a moment...

For just then, the small crystal around Felicissa's throat glowed slightly, emitting out small, invisible beams. These beams hit all of the Scouts, Darien, and even Molly. Quite suddenly, Raye was at ease.

Serena glared at her boyfriend, his best friend, and her best friend for a moment, then turned her attention to older girl in front of her. She smiled brightly, and said, "Hi! I'm Serena...and these are my friends..." allowing them to each to introduce themselves.

The tall one grinned and said, "I'm Lita."

"Raye..." said the dark haired one.

"Mina!" chirruped the other blond.

"And Ami.." said the quiet blue haired girl.

Felicissa smiled again, "Nice to meet you...", and she leaned over and whispered into Serena's ear, "Don't be too hard on them...Darien was singing your praises all day yesterday...and so was Molly five minutes ago..."

Serena hid a smile, and whispered back, "I won't...". And with a wink, she moved past Felicissa, and gave Darien, Molly, and Andrew a royal glare. "WHAT do you have to say for yourselves?" she said icily.

Her cool blue eyes caused all three to squirm in their chairs. The girls, including Felicissa, giggled in their hands. Mina whispered to Ami, "There's a side of Serena we don't see very often, the haughty Moon Princess!"

Molly and Andrew muttered their apologies, but Darien went for a bit more of an emotional plea. Pulling out a rose (from god knows where, thought Felicissa with surprise), he offered to her with a pleading look in his blue eyes, and said, "I'm sorry...can you find it in your heart to forgive me?"

Serena melted right then and there. "Oh Muffin...thank you..." she murmered, and with that, the Serena storm was past.

Darien got up and held her, "My meatball head..." he whispered softly. She lay her head on his chest, and they shared a moment. Andrew grinned.

The rest of the girls sighed happily. Well, except one...

Raye put her hands on her hips and rolled her eyes. They were at it again, being sooo cute. Raye could only take soooo much. She groaned audiably, "Let's get started shopping before I get a toothache from all this sweetness!!"

This earned her a chorus of giggles from Lita, Ami, Mina, Felicissa and Molly, a chuckle from Andrew and Darien, and a very angry "RAAAAAAAAAAYYYEEEE!!!!" from Serena.

Outside on the roof, hearing the screams, Artemis groaned. "Luna, in case I haven't mentioned it, I think it's going to be one of those days!!" he sighed.

"And coming up on our left, we see the lovely city of Tokyo, one the central places of energy gathering..." said Erkyte cheerfully. Malachite looked at him and groaned. In the back, they could hear Zoeisite snorting, and Jedaite's chuckles. "Also home to those lovely little snots, the Sailor Scouts..." Erkyte added. There were chorused boos all around.

The ship flew around the city outskirts and headed towards the bay, and the warehouse district of Tokyo. Erkyte aimed the ship towards one of the warehouses on the dock. He pressed a yellow button, and the roof of one of the warehouses opened. He landed the ship, and popped the rear door. "Okay, last stop, everyone out!" he yelled.

The generals all unbuckled, and headed for the rear door. Zoeisite stepped out of the ship, and looked around, impressed. The warehouse was nicely 'furnished'. It had been changed into a proper sort of base of operations. Walls separated finely made up rooms, some of them personal quarters. One room was nothing but a wall of TV screens, and a table for tactical arrangments. The hanger was immediately adjacent to all of the rooms. "Alot nicer than that drafty cavern." she commented.

Jedaite came behind and said, "Yes...very nice." Malachite followed, and looked around approvingly. They all looked around their new headquarters.Erkyte came out as well, and took out a small grey remote. He pressed the black button on it, and closed the back of the ship. He pushed through the three generals, and gestured them to follow him. They walked the short distance over to the room with the screens, otherwises called "Ready Room".

Malachite took one of the ends of the tables, Zoeisite on his right, Jedaite on his left. Erkyte took the other end of the table. He leaned forward on it with the palms of his hands. He closed his eyes, he felt the summoning... The crystal around his throat flashed, and suddenly, Metallia was in the room again. The three Generals froze, and watched the misty presence float through the air.

"Greeeetings my Geeeeeenerals...." she hissed, "I seeee you have taken Errrrrrrkyte's propostion..."

Malachite looked at Metallia, and looked at the others. They nodded; they would let him speak for them. He smiled slightly, looked at Metallia again, and spoke, "My Queen, we have accepted. Now, we merely wait for you to unfurl your plans to us."

Metallia whispered to Erkyte, and he nodded. He stood up straight, and began to speak, "We all know that Beryl was the 'focus' of power in the Negaverse. When she was destroyed, a lot of the power was taken with her, as was the connection between the Universe and the Negaverse. The Negaverse is closed off from it's main objective...and there is no way to reopen the Doorway between the two..."

Zoeisite frowned, and asked, "And this means we don't have the availible power sources to take on the Scouts, right?"

Erkyte said, "Right. Metallia..." gesturing to their regent, "...and the rest of our forces are trapped. Only Metallia is powerful enough to slip through a crack, but it is draining on her. The monster she created earlier took alot of energy..."

Jedaite said amusedly, "Let me guess, one of our first duties is to start gathering energy, right?" He chuckled, and added, "I come out of the crystal, and right back to the grind!"

Erkyte grinned, and said, "Very observant, Jedaite. However, there is more to it than that. We need the energy to boost our own powers, and to refresh Metallia when she comes over through. However...none of us have the Raw Magical power to open the Doorway ourselves..."

"Could we do it together?" asked Malachite. Erkyte shook his head negatively. Malachite sighed, and said, "Well, I guess we're stuck, aren't we?

Erkyte looked grim."Not exactly...there is someone powerful to open the Doorway..." he flicked his hand, and the TV screens turned on. A face of a young girl appeared on it. The three generals stared. It was Sailor Moon, doing one of her 'courageous poses'.

Zoiesite just shook her head. "No way... Sailor Moon? She'd probably would prefer we pulled her eyes out and fed them to a youma than help us open the Doorway to the Negaverse...", she said.

Jedaite added, "She's right..."

Metallia whispered into the air, "Then, we are going tooo find something that is going to make heeer willling to *heeeelp* us...which means you all are going to follow her...find her weeeak spot..."

They all nodded. "We should get started then...Jedaite, you know who she is in real life...why don't you call her house and find out where she's at?" said Erkyte. He tossed the blond haired man a telephone book.

Jediate nodded, and was about to go, when he turned around and looked bemused. "You know, it's a pretty sorry show of our energy output if I have to use a mortal's phone to pinpoint where Sailor Moon is!!", he said with a chuckle, and headed off to use the phone installed on the wall.

"What are we going to do when we find her?" asked Zoeisite. Erkyte lifted an eyebrow, and smiled maliciously.

"Follow her. Crush the Scouts and Prince Endoymion out of existance, leaving her alone and defenseless. Use the people she loves most against her. Then we kill her. Very painfully." he said with a smirk.

Malachite looked at the girl on the TV. His eyes were cold, and he said quietly and slowly, "Why do I have the feeling...that it's going to be one of those days for the _great_Sailor Moon?"

Erkyte and Zoeisite just smiled.
