The Man
He stands there, saying nothing,
he just stands there.
He says nothing, standing there,
you just don’t help him.
He looks at you, pleading with you,
he just says nothing.
Why don’t you help him, you aren’t helping,
he just looks.
Oh, what a world that we live in,
not a soul will help him with his.
No one to help, no one to listen.
For God’s sake, come to your senses,
see that he is in need of you assistance.
Stop removing the dirt from the rich man’s hair,
look at the man, and see that dirt that is there.
Don’t be disgusted, be proud of his filth,
you put it there.
It was all your doing, you refused to help him when you could
sadly it is now that you realize that you should.
For he is gone, no more to weep,
enfolded in the darkness’s bosom
for eternal sleep.
