Doomsday: "Batgirl is being carried up the hill by The Pieman's pie-thons.
"Meanwhile, in the King Cole Castle, Robin is bobbin' over lighted candles, to keep the dynamite sticks from touching the flames . . .
CLANG . . . CLANG
Batman: "The bell rope!"
Batman makes a death-defying leap through space and is just able to get a hold of the rope that Brownie has been pulling below, causing the bell to swing back and forth and ring.
Brownie: "Batman's coming down!"
Brownie runs away before Batman slides all the way down.
Batman: "Now to find Robin."
The Caped Crusader promptly locates the Boy Wonder in the courtyard of the castle. He frees the teen from his predicament.
Robin: "Batman! Where were you?"
Batman: "Oh, just hanging around.
"Let's go! Batgirl's in trouble!"
Cookie and Strudel have made it to the top of the Jack and Jill Hill. They have set the pumpkin shell with Batgirl locked inside down next to the well. Their boss joins them . . .
Simon: "Simon says, ‘Drop her down the well.'"
Before the pair can execute their leader's evil order, two batarangs fly through the air and remove the two henchmen's chef's hats!
Charlotte: "Look, Simon! They escaped!"
Simon: "Grab that pumpkin!"
Cookie and Strudel stare at their boss, blankly.
Simon: "Simon says - Oh, no! Too late!"
By throwing her body against the side of her pumpkin prison, Batgirl has caused it to roll down the side of the hill!
Batman: "Batgirl's in there!"
Robin: ". . . and it's heading towards the moat!"
The Dynamic Duo sprint to positions about fifteen feet apart in the path of the careening pumpkin, just in front of the shark infested waters.
Batman: "Grab it!"
Batman tosses a large net to his young partner.
Robin: "Got it!"
The pair snag the globe just before it falls into the moat! Batman opens the door to release their female friend.
Batgirl: "Thanks for a Happy Halloween!"
Batgirl points across Mother Goose's Park for Kiddies . . .
Batgirl: "Look!"
Batman: "The roof of the Patty-Cake House!"
Robin: "Holy Pie in the Sky! It's a flying saucer!"
Powerful hover jets lift the bizarre pie-shaped aircraft into the air and away from the Fairgrounds.
Batman: "We're going to the Batcave, Batgirl! The Batcomputer will tell us the next move Simon's likely to make."
Robin: "Meanwhile, you stay out of trouble."
The Dynamic Duo print to and roar off in the Batmobile. Fortunately for Batgirl, as she was being carried up the Jack and Jill Hill, she spied where Simon and his gang had left her Batgirlcycle. She races over to it and gazes skyward. She can still just barely make out Simon's flying pie in the night sky, lit by the city lights below.
Batgirl: "Hmmm. Wonder if I can keep that in sight until it comes down. Worth a try!"
Batgirl takes off in pursuit on her motorcycle.
Soon thereafter, as the Batmobile roars into the Batcave, Alfred holds out the Hotline.
Alfred: "Just in time, Batman sir. It's urgent."
Batman: "Thank you, Alfred.
"What is it, Commissioner?"
Commissioner Gordon: "Sixteen and a half trillion piasters stolen at the airport!"
Batman: "Must be Simon's work.
"Have you heard from your daughter?"
Commissioner Gordon: "No, Batman. Did you question Mother Goose?"
Batman: "Mother Goose, Commissioner, is a crooked man who walks a crooked mile."
Commissioner Gordon: "Good grief! Then Barbara-"
Batman: "Don't worry, sir. We'll find her."
Desmond Doomsday: "Meanwhile, Simon's Sky Pie heads toward distant Nestle Cove."
Simon: "That silly Batgirl. She's following us!"
Charlotte: "I'll tell Strudel to change course."
Simon: "No. We will land at the power house as planned as soon as we get the signal. Then . . . set a trap for her!"
Moments later, a searchlight flashes in the sky. The flying pie lands in the water, at a dock next to a decommissioned power plant. The facility was the site of an unsuccessful attempt to generate commercially viable amounts of electricity using an alternate fuel source.
Simon: "Simon says, ‘Everybody into the power house.'
"Wait, you fools!
You left the piasters in the Sky Pie!"
Strudel: "Sorry, boss. We forgot."
A couple of men fetch the loot, while the rest of the gang pours into their latest headquarters.
Minutes later, Batgirl pulls up outside.
Batgirl: "‘Piezoelectric Company!' Must be Simon's base of operations. I'll climb the rear wall with my Bat-cups and enter from the roof."
On a TV monitor inside the plant, Simon observes Batgirl climbing the wall by means of suction cups attached to her wrists and ankles.
Simon: "By Ginger-snap! Isn't she clever?"
Charlotte: "Huh! Looks like a crawly bug to me."
Simon: "Strudel, Cookie. Simon says, ‘Go up and get her!'"
The two bakers race up the stairs to the roof.
Strudel: "There she is!"
Batgirl: "Oops! Company!
"My
Bat-Compact."
Batgirl removes the Bat-shaped buckle on her utility belt, opens it, and then blows the powder inside into the faces of the two crooks. She then pushes them down and makes her way to the powerful searchlight, still beaming into the dark sky.
Batgirl: "My Bat-Compact on the lens and, presto, a Bat-Signal!"
In the Batcopter . . .
Robin: "Look! The Bat-Signal coming from Nestle Cove!"
Batman: "Full speed ahead!"
While, back on the roof, more hoods with guns appear . . .
Simon: "Very ingenious, Batgirl."
Batgirl: "Simon! Um . . . Nice roof you have here."
Simon: "Brilliant way to lure your friends into my trap, thank you.
"Take her away, boys!"
One of the goons grabs her.
Batgirl: "Wait! He didn't say ‘Simon says!'"
Simon: "She's right!
Before long, the Batcopter arrives in the airspace over the cove . . .
Robin: "Batman, look! The Batcycle."
Batman: "Hmm. Obviously, Batgirl set up that sky signal. Must be in trouble."
Robin: "Holy Pie Crust! There's Simon's flying pie in the water. It's also a boat!"
Batman: "Yes, and it's moving out to sea . . . probably with Batgirl aboard."
Batman maneuvers the Batcopter so that it is directly above and pacing the now floating Sky Pie.
Batman: "Lower the cable.
"Follow me . . . and have your Bat-Mask and
Bat-Gas Pellets ready."
Robin: "Check."
Simon is watching all this on his TV monitor, back in the power plant. Soon . . .
Charlotte: "They're both in the pie!"
Simon: "Good. Now, Simon will lock them in."
Simon pushes a button. He then begins to operate a set of remote controls . . .
Simon: "Now, Simon sends the pie underwater, like a submarine . . . and now, full speed toward the barrier reef. Alone in the pie, the trapped Bat-rats will be the only victims of an underwater crash."
On the pie sub . . .
Robin: "No one else aboard, Batman . . . and we're sealed in!"
Batman: "And heading toward a reef. Find the torpedo room, Robin. I'll contact Alfred on the Bat-Communicator."
Simon: "Piezoelectricity is created by tremendous pressure on a crystal,
Batgirl. So this will be quite shocking! Ha, ha!"
Back in the water . . .
Batman: "Yes, Alfred. Where are you?"
Alfred: "In the Batboat, sir, directly above you."
Batman: "Good man.
"Quick, Robin. Into the torpedo tube!"
The Dynamic Duo launch themselves to the surface, coming up next to the Batboat.
Charlotte: "What happened?!"
Simon: "Why did it stop?"
Charlotte: "Look!"
Batman and Robin appear in a doorway.
Batman: "Your slow-motion potion won't work this time, Simon!"
Robin: "Let's show them some fast-motion, Batman!"
Simon: "Simon says, ‘Attack!'"
Strudel and Cookie throw rolling pins at the Dynamic Duo, which are easily caught.
Simon: "Simon says, "Down the pole!'"
As the four felons slide down a pole, similar to the
Bat-poles, Batman and Robin turn their attention to their bound compatriot.
Batman: "You all right?"
Simon and his gang emerge on a balcony overlooking the water. An electric line runs from the power plant to a tower on the far shore.
Simon: "That electric cable . . . our escape!"
Charlotte: "No, Simon! It is full of electricity!"
Simon: "Wrong! Our friend Batman pulled the plug. Watch!"
Simon grabs the cable and begins to make his way, hand over hand, across. The rest follow.
The Terrific Trio arrives on the balcony a couple of minutes later . . .
Robin: "Holy Cable Cars! They're getting away!"
Batgirl, thinking fast, runs back up the stairs to the generating
room. She picks up the giant plug and . . .
Batgirl: "Now, they're due for a shock!"
Bzzzzzztttt!
Splash!
Batgirl rejoins her comrades and observes . . .
Batgirl: "They would have to fall near a speedboat!"
Robin: "Let's go after ‘em in the Batcopter!"
Batman: "No need, Robin. Simple Simon has forgotten about his underwater pie. Watch!"
The boat zips over the waves, out towards the open sea. They are right at the barrier reef, when the underwater pie hits the reef, causing a tremendous explosion! The speedboat is capsized, throwing Simon and his gang into the water.
Sometime later, a police boat with Commissioner Gordon aboard has rounded up the gang, along with the Terrific Trio and a giant pie found just inside the power plant.
Commissioner Gordon: "Tell me, Simon. Where are those stolen Turkish piasters?"
Simon: "No!"
Batman: "Over here, Commissioner."
The Boy Wonder reaches into the giant pie.
Commissioner Gordon: "He stuck in his thumb and pulled out a plumb."
In Robin's glove is a handful of piasters!
Batman: "By the way, have you heard from your daughter,
Barbara?"
Commissioner Gordon: "Yes. She phoned me to say she left the Kiddie Park to attend a flower show!
