Iron Man and the Wasp arrive at this precise moment backed-up by the Costa Verdan army! In the ensuing battle, Silverclaw tries desperately to save her mother from death at Kulan Gath's hand. Otmatched by the ancient wizard's power, Silverclaw quickly realizes that only Peliali herself can stop Kulan Gath. From atop Kulan Gath's fortress, Silverclaw rallies the Kamekari. Rekindling their faith in Peliali through her impassioned words, Silverclaw ignites the belief that fuels her mother's god-like powers. Peliali's strength returns and just as Kulan Gath strikes, she escapes her bounds! The portal meant to embrace Kulan Gath into godhood with Peliali's demise instead lashes out at the wizard and consumes him. Kulan Gath screams out as his dark masters claim his mortal form in lieu of the volcano godess.
The Kamekari village reverts to normal and Silverclaw finds herself at the side of her wounded mother. Silverclaw at last makes peace with the mother she never knew just as Peliali dies from Kulan Gath's final blow. The Avengers and Silverclaw leave Costa Verde following Peliali's sad demise. Silverclaw now accepts her role as the protector of the Kamekari and vows to return following her studies in America. The Scarlet Witch proposes that Lupe become a reserve Avenger to further help her prepare to be her people's champion. The Avengers celebrate the induction of their newest member, unaware that the mysterious Yellowjacket has stolen aboard their Quinjet and is plotting his next move!
