Neon Genesis Evangelion

This is a futuristic series in which an alien species has taken a great interest in earth's scientific research and deems that it should be destroyed. There is,however, a government institution that has been set up in order to counter this threat in various mecha. I don't really know too much about this series, so if any one does know anything more, please let me know.
