American Wonder

Smog
    Pollution in the air
Oil
    In the Sea
    Killing of creatures
Greenhouse effect
    Watch the plants
    Whither and die
These are the problems
That we face day by day
These are things
That bring adversity
But we can't sweep it away
We must face the problems of today
Today

Before the night
Turns into day
A thousand people will have died
Blood has been spilled
From the Gunshot wounds
    Knife strokes
Hit and runs
By drunken drivers
All we can do is mourn

Children starving
Around the world
Homeless in your backyard
Terrorists making their point
With bombings and bloodshed
Governmental red tape
Allows it all

Racists, bigots and greed
In our peoples' national congress
They grab power
And never let go
Censoring those who
Endanger their hold

We see the problems
Through our sad eyes
We are the few
Who dare to cut
The puppet strings
We move with freedom
Denying your commands

From the moment we are borne
We walk our trek
Towards death
Indivisible
