Calliope

The rays of the moon
Bejewel your honey colored hair
Oh, sweet maiden Calliope

I hold you in my arms
Dancing upon the bricks
Only the music of the city to dance to

Moly flowers and your sacred scroll
I did clutch in my hand
Gilded intentions of marrying you

"I will not burn your scroll
But for Morphean sake I ask you
Will you marry me?"

You let me kiss you, but gave no answer
To the streets I led you, away from enchanted forests
"Glitter holds no inspiration," I whispered

Together we dance
Music of sirens, engines, screams
Jive, cries, deaths, all under slanted moonbeams

Imangice my surprise
That you accepted to be my bride
And led me to secreted loins

Swoon of ecstasy and sight
Visions, stories so bright
All dance at my fingertips

Fortune we made together
And children from our bosomed love
Each with honey gold hair, and my modest smile

Once I led the dance
Now you lead me, overseeing
Sickness where once there was health

To dust I passed, freeing
Homer's blessed Muse
My free, darling Calliope
