Notes (House Rules)--The following is a new skill:
Rope Use is a M/A skill that can be placed either under the Outdoor or the Thief/Spy skill categories.  Rope Use is the knowledge of making knots, knowing how much weight the rope will hold, etc.

Literacy in the Vergotha campaign world is considered a M/A skill and not an advantage.

Clerics in Vergotha receive automatic levels of Power Investiture beginning at the second rank of Clerical Investment.  To progress to higher levels of CI a cleric of Pandeos must have a minimum Theology and a minimum main weapon skill (Axe/Mace for Perwyn).  GMs may change these reqs as desired.  GMs are also encouraged to offer a restricted list of spells per CI after 2nd.  The best bet is to bestow spells that include minor healing, the detection of foes, and which will offer aid in battle without belittling the warrior priest's natural abilities.

Notes (Character)--Perwyn is the orphaned son of two Pandeos (God of Battle/God of the Slaughter) temple priests from the city of Dawnblossom.  This city, on the southern frontier of the Vergotha Empire is often ravaged by ogre raiders.  During one of these raids Perwyn's parents were killed while defending an outpost.  Perwyn was taken in by church and trained as a cleric.

At the age of 17 Perwyn finds himself the defacto leader of a group of adventurers.  The sense of duties to those under his leadership is a constant concern for him; a value handed down by his parents.  The only time he will not engage in battle is if he fears that doing so would mean certain doom for those under his leadership.  However, running from a battle means that he must do an extreme amount of penance afterwards.

For the most part, Perwyn remains as a developing character.  His short term plans include intense practice in the Axe/Mace and Broadsword skills while acquiring knowledge and skill in other weapons and learning skills that will keep himself and his party alive in battle.  He is also very good natured and is most impressed by someone who is willing to spar or practice to become a more competent fighter.

Notes (Gameplay)--Some changes that GMs might want to make if using Perwyn as a NPC:

--Advantages:  Rapid Healing, Fit, High Pain Threshold, Toughness +2, higher Clerical Investment or Charisma, the addition of Voice, Status, Wealth, Claim to Hospitality (Pandeos Temples), Strong Will, Enhanced Parry, Enhanced Dodge, Enhanced Block, Trained by a Master, Weapon Mastery

--Attributes:  STR of 13 or higher, IQ higher than 10 to facilitate better Mental Skill scores, HT of 13 or 14 to keep him alive and to allow him to move faster.

--Skills:  Combat/Weapon skills of any kind, Outdoor skills, First Aid, Leadership, Diplomacy, Strategy, Tactics, Intelligence Analysis, etc.

Perwayn can be used a knightly figure, a fellow warrior priest, an NPC hired (or selected by the church) to lead a band of adventurers.  He may also be looking for battle and glory (money doesn't really interest him), possibly sitting on the front lines of an invasion, etc.
