Slow Down

Under the pressure
Of life
Seeing the beast
Bearing down
Stealing away your innocence

Just people
Trapped in small bodies
No time to be yourself
No time to be young
You can't express yourself
In any way other than
What you've been taught

Time to walk straight and narrow
See the congested highways
Got to get from here to there
No time to think
No time to enjoy
Don't even know your
Child's name

All of eighteen
Full-time job
Full-time classes
Never speak to your parents
Nervous breakdown
At the age of twenty

In a capitalist country
You have to be born to work
Maximum output all the time
Forget the books and your dolls
