Wow! What an episode! At a time directly after 'Leonard Betts' I expected, and wanted, more Mulder and Scully bonding. Did I get it? It depends on your view of the episode. On first viewing I was upset at the relationship between our favourite duo, especially the scene in their office *g*. At first I was angry at Mulder's pig-headedness towards Scully's feelings, but then I realised that she wasn't really telling him what was wrong, and that she was right to want a stake in the X-Files office. I was glad that Mulder phoned her throughout the episode instead of the other way round, especially when he wanted to share his 'personal' experience with her.

Was Mulder jealous of Scully's date with Ed Jerse? Perhaps, if his 'You're kidding?!' exclamation after Scully hinted at a date is anything to go by. Does Mulder want to see the tattoo? Perhaps, if he knew where it was...*thwap*. Ah, well, maybe one day he'll see it...*g*. Scully's choice of placement for her tattoo is significant: her lower back, where Mulder's hand usually rests. The tattoo is an ouroborus representing the cyclic nature of life. Is this how she views her life and relationship with Mulder?

Of course, along with most 'shippers, my favourite part of this episode was the end scene. Watch for Mulder's body language and confusion here. Especially when he goes over to the filing cabinet and begins gesticulating (love the word and love Mulder's hands *g*). But who could deny the very last bit:

Scully: Not everything is about you Mulder. This is my life.

Mulder: Yes, but it's m....

And then a silent fade out to the credits, no music, no sound, just Mulder and Scully facing each other silently. If Chris 'the tease' Carter left too much open for you, there are some good fanfic pieces that finish off this episode....
