(Story)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

My family , which consists of my parents and 2 brothers and a sister, were visiting my mother's mother. She lived in Woonsocket which is located at the tip of North Rhode Island. In the area of the woonsocket in which she lived in consisted of 4 or 3 cemetaries. My sister and brothers were pleased at that fact because we love hanging around cemetaries late at night playing hide and go seek, manhunt, things of that sort. We decided to go to the cemetary closest to her house, it was kind far up the street but it was the closest one. There was about 5 kids there when we arrived there and they were looking closely at tombstone. We went over and started examining the tombstone also. Only we didn't know what we were looking for or at. My younger sister than asked one of the boys. He said " we were gonna play a game of manhunt here but wouldn't dare because of the marks on the tombstome." They also mentioned a legend about the marks on the tombstone. The marks were clearly visible !

they looked as if someone scratched the granite stone. "The legend was something about a person attacking two young teenagers at the cemetary when they were out on a date". We didn't believe it at first I mean who has a date at a cemetary?!?! But as he explained it more it made some sense. He noted" that they were passing though when they stopped because of a popped tire. The girl ran to the cemetary because they thought they saw a caretakers office which someone might be in. They were right about seeing the caretakers office, but it wasn't who was in it but what was in it. The girl knocked several times on the office door made of wood but no answer. The boy then came over and they walked and sat on a tombstone. They both didn't know what to do the boy decided he was going to walk up the street to get help and did leaving the girl behind." It made alot more sense but once he got up to that point a flash of light ran across the cemetary nearly knocking us down. My sister grabbe!

d my oldest brothers leg hopeing for help. The boy just looked up nodded and continued the story as the other boys scurried away. We looked at each other and the gaze in his pale green eyes just seemed to have no trust in them. " The girl waiting impatiently she started to stand up when something grabbed her pulling her down. All that was heard at the time was owls hooting." The wind ruslted and we seemed to be interested more in the story than what the person was doing. " When the boy returned the car was fixed, his girl gone, the office gone and these scratches were here." We looked around amazed at the story which we didn't believe until we heard a deaf-defying scream coming from a wooden office across the street. We turned that way and when we turned back toward the tombstone the guy was gone but we caught sight of him walking across the street. As he did that he seemed to become clear or transparent all we saw was an outline as he went through the wooden sides of the care! takers office the yells and screams stopped as did the wind and the moon came out. Ever since we have had funny things happening to us at our house in Patucket like the lights control themselves as do the sinks and showers. Eventually we sold that house and so did our Grandmother who was having the same problems.

Thank for the time it took reading this extremely long submission. Becareful what kind of games you play at night......

I have other experiences I would like to tell you about and you are more then welcome to use them on your page. You can edit it if you need to shorten it. Let me know when any of them are up on the site. I would like to see it. The first one happened about a month and a half ago. One night my husband and I were laying in our bed on a Saturday night. I got up to go to the bathroom and I had a weird feeling like someone was watching me. I did not think anything of it because I get that feeling right before my granny visits me. I love when she visits me because she looks so happy and so peaceful. When I came back to bed I woke my husband up and he had to get up and go. All of a sudden he froze; his face turned white and all he could say is that someone was here. I asked him who did it look like and he told me a man a little shorter then him with a white glow around him and long hair. I told him that there was nothing to be afraid of that this person was not going to hurt us. For him to just go ahead and go to the bathroom and come back to bed and go back to sleep. He told me that he was too scared that he could hear the man trying to talk to him. He jumped back into bed and told me that he needed to hold me that he did not know what the spirit wanted. When he asked who was here we both heard the name Leon. The only person that we knew with the name Leon is one of my uncles but he is still alive. We just laid there in bed when he began walking towards our bedroom. We had something sitting in the kitchen floor that we had forgot to move. I think it was a tool box or something like that. "Leon" then kicked the toolbox and made a loud crash. We both jumped when we heard that. I kept telling my husband that there was nothing to be afraid of. My husband started praying for us to be safe. Just then we both heard a voice tell us that there was nothing for us to be afraid of that he was here to protect us. My husband then said that he felt the spirit touch his face and tell him to go to sleep everything will be okay. I then felt someone rubbing my head telling me not to worry for me to sleep and next thing I knew I said "Thank you" out loud. When I said thank you the room lit up like it was daylight. It was so pretty. Unfortunately I did not see anything else until I woke up at 6:30 the next morning. I called my mom to tell her what had happened and she told me that it was either mine or my husbands guardian angel coming to warn us about something that is going to happed but to tell us that everything will be okay. Sure enough on Dec. 28th, 2000 my husband was involved in a bad accident. I was driving behind my husband and someone cut him off. He swerved to avoid that person and flipped our van onto its left (drivers side). He was not wearing a seat belt at the time. When I saw it happen I thought he was dead. I ran up to the window and yelled at him. He opened up his eyes and all I kept saying is you have to get out. Please get out. He looked at me climbed up and stood on the drivers side window. He told me that he needed me to hold the passenger door open that he could not get out. The van laying on his side is 6ft tall not to mention how tall the door is also. I am only 5'4" with shoes on. Something must have lifted me into the air and held onto me because that night I was able to hold the door wide open and I remember being on my tiptoes but I was not standing on anything that I could see. My husband got out of the van and all he had wrong with him was a small bruise on his right thigh. The van was okay except for a few scratches and frame damage that happened from the tow truck flipping the van back over. The van was totaled because of the frame damage but other then that there was nothing wrong with it. A couple of nights later we saw "Leon" again. I told him thank you and he just smiled at us. The other time was at my aunts house in Peoria. My uncle had just passed away. My husband (my boyfriend at the time), my mother, and I were sitting at the table playing monopoly. It was about 1:30 in the morning. We heard noises in the basement. At first we thought that someone had broken into the house. We were sitting at the table when the door leading to the basement opened up. No one walked out. My husband sat there frozen with fear. He could not talk, move, nothing. I kept asking him what was wrong. I told him that it was my uncle and he would not hurt him. I said hello to my uncle and introduced my husband to my uncle and my husband just said that he saw a man standing there. He said that when I introduced him to him he waved and smiled. I then felt someone hugging me and I looked and saw my uncle hug my mom. He told us that he loved us and looked at my husband and told him welcome to the family. My husband and I were not even thinking about marriage at the time. He must have known something we did not at the time.

Subject: Emailed You Two Weeks Ago?

Hi Jamie:

Good to hear that you are still computer connected!

I did email you about two to three weeks ago! I told you a little about the Caribbean! Oh, it was fantastic! We made reservations for our trip next year! LOL!

What I didn't tell you was on our little map of the island there was a little blurb about an old sugar mill called Mannings Estate, or better known as "Jumby" Estate. I guess the word "jumby" means spirit. The people native to the island have drawings of men on stilts and the men on the stilts represent the jumbies! Any how, hubby and I took a ride to Jumby Estate and there was a small house which looked abandoned. We took pictures, but haven't had them developed yet. But, I also took a picture with our new digital camera.

I haven't figured out how to make the pictures smaller so I haven't sent one to you yet. When I looked at the house in the digital picture I didn't see anything unusual. But, I remember when we took another swing around back to the house, I saw a red truck pull out of the driveway with a young black man behind the wheel...Hubby never saw the truck at all...what does that mean when we were sitting right next to each other in the same car? Strange.

Oh, a few days ago on Unsolved Mysteries, Resurrection Mary was featured again! Richard T. Crowe was the spokes person. They also interviewed the man who first saw Mary and his encounter with her in 1939 and a couple who saw her walking along the road next to the cemetery in the 1980s. I was so excited that I wanted to call my sister, but she was at work and couldn't see it!

Keep me updated on what you've been doing, esp. with any ghostly encounters! I get chills just thinking about it, what you do is so cool!

Take care,

June

Yes - I sense there is more than once ghost...As for the history of this place, it was originally brought up here for a weekend getaway for a bunch of guys to come and fish, play cards, etc. on the weekends, etc...This is actually a 1963 Suburban trailer with a side cut out and a small livingroom built onto it...This place was vacant for 5 years before it was bought over and quickly sold 2 or 3 times...Then it was bought by an Englishman (young) and he did some remodeling to it (added the livingroom) and rented it out for awhile (about 3 or 4 months) and then I bought it...It sold for under $10,000....The tenant that lived here was a young woman and her young son and they moved to Santa Rosa where she enrolled in school...

Many times, my parrot has been looking into the diningroom (the original livingroom in the trailer) and he's said such things as "Get outta there", or "Noooooo" and he isn't liking what he sees...I see nothing (since I can't see in the diningroom from my putter table but you can tell he sees something and he's talking to it!!! He's also said, "Bye byyyyyyyyye"....

I found out that info from a lady who lived here on this street for 9 years before I moved in...Prior to that, I have no info since this is a dirt road and she's the oldest resident on this street (living here-wise)...I don't have any reports on ghosts here prior to my moving here, but that isn't saying much...This place was supposed to be sold for $11,000 (the original asking price) and I bought it for $8,000...That's all I could find out...

I will get some film and take some pics and see what happens...the cold spot isn't here tonight, and all seems quiet - so far anyway...I'll keep you posted...

hi. i've always believed in ghost my whole life but i've never actually had anything happen to me. until monday night. i came home from work and my nephew was sleeping in my bed because he was staying over. so i slept in my spare room. i never sleep in there i just keep my coats and junk in there and i have a mirror i keep in there to use when i get ready. i layed down for bed and not even after 5 minutes, this voice said in my ear, "raaayyyy". so i opened my eyes and looked around then sat up. nothing there. so i went into my room to see if it was my nephew playing a joke on me, he was sleeping. i woke him back up and he said he didn't get out of bed. then last night i slept in my room because my nephew went home, i closed that door to the spare room. this morning when i woke the door was wide open. i retraced my steps over and over again in my head and i know i didn't open that door. what am i to do?? record these happening to make sure they are really happening?? confront this thing?? when i left for work this morning i said out loud i was leaving, please leave me alone i haven't done anything to you, please go. maybe i shouldn't have asked it to leave, maybe that will make it mad. also my grandmother just passed last monday, do you think it's her trying to communicate? the only ray's i know are my ex-step dad and this girl carrie that used to stay with me, for like two weeks, and her boyfriend's name was ray. she slept in that room. my landlady's parents used to live there but she said they didn't die there and i don't think her dad's name was ray. please advise me on what i'm to do now. i closed the door again when i left for work today. so i'm waiting to see if it's open when i get home today. i will also test it again tonight. please any advise on what to do would be greatly appreciated. thank you. kelly clement

Subject: ghostly

hi Jamie, my name is Megan, and for some reason, I
don't understand why, but I have been through many
ghost experiences.
My first one was when I was about 12, I was in my
friends atic, looking and walking around. When we
happend to look up, we saw some dark, black, evil
looking figure type thing coming towards us, so of
course we ran out of there. We never went back. We
know that no one else was up there with us because
everyone else was gone, except for her mom, who had
been watching t.v. So we know that it wasn't human, or
whatever.
My second one, was when I was about 16 or 17. I was
with a different friend,in a different town. It was
summer and we were walking around. We just happend to
walk right by the funeral home, that was right across
the street from the Catholic church. We saw a male
figure that had a sort of glowing look to him. He was
starring at the church, then looked at us. He repeated
that for a while with out ever saying anything. Then
he turned to enter the funeral home but he didn't
enter the door, he just walked straight into a wall.
I sometimes have these bad feeling that something bad
is going to happen. One night I stayed up worring that
something bad was going to happen, something to do
with a car. I told my fiancee to be carfull at work,
he was a construction person. Well little did we know
that at 5 in the morning we had came a cross and
accident where he works. Two teenagers ran into some
construction equipment, we were the first ones on
sceen. Well one of those boys are paralized for life,
and the other is doing just fine.
Like I said earlier, I don't understand why this
happens, it just does. I would appreciate it if you
would write me back on what you think. Thanks so much.

Subject: ghostly, important

 Dear Jamie,
I had another ghostly experience. It occured last
night. I was driving home from another town, and I was
with my mom and two year old brother. We were out in
the middle of no where, when my mom was talking to me.
I was driving. I was looking at the road ahead of us,
when I saw what appeared to be a girl around the age
of maybe twelve, she was wearing a red dress, and she
had a dog with her. It looked like , gosh i don't
know, it looked like a big dog, i don't know what
kind. Maybe half wolf, half dog. Anyway, natuarlly, I
slammed on my breaks thinking that I was going to hit
them. Well when I did that they disapeared. My mom was
yelling at me, not understanding why I had slammed on
my breaks. They didn't see it but I did. I know that i
was not haulitinating. I know what I saw.
Please email me back, so I know that you have
recieved this. Tell me what you think.
   Thanks so much,

Jamie,

This may be lame compared to your other
stories but I thought it might be interesting. My
wife's grandparents live in Maryland and while on
a visit there we took a trip over the state line
about twenty miles to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania ,
where the Battle of Gettysburg was
fought during the Civil War. One attraction that
some cleaver resident of Gettysburg came up
with was a walking tour of all the haunted spots
of Gettysburg. There was one particular house
on the tour where the only civilian to die at the
battle was killed. Her name was Jennie Wade and
she was struck down by a stray mini ball while
baking bread. The guide said the place was
haunted. There were many stories of people who
took photos of the house and their pictures did
not turn out right. She also said that some
people's cameras have broken. I am a skeptic, so
I
told my wife stand in front of the house so I
could take her picture. Immediately after I
snapped
the shot I dropped the camera on the ground. It
broke the door off where the film is loaded. I
think that I was just klutzy....... but sometimes
I wonder.

Subject: The Banshee

I think you're going to like this story, Jamie. I wanted to send it to
you to post on St. Patrick's Day or whenever, cause I'm not sure what's
going on here and how long I'll be on line. But I wanted to make sure
you had this. And it's just what I was looking for. Enjoy! Love,
Linda
***********************************************
THE BANSHEE by Linda Davis

St. Patrick's legacy of Christianity gave Ireland its image of "saints
and scholars". But what of another legacy of Ireland..... a more
spectral one?

The banshee or bean-sidhe (woman of the fairy) may be an ancestral
spirit that forewarns Irish families of their time of death. The
banshee can only cry for these five major families: The O'Neills, the
O'Briens, the O'Connors, the O'Gradys, and the Kavanaghs. However,
since all the intermarriages of the clans, more families have been
included.

The banshee usually appears in one of three forms: a young woman, a
stately matron, or a raddied old hag. These represent the Celtic
Goddess of war and death; Badhbh, Macha, and Mor-Rioghain. Her attire
is a grey-hooded cloak, a winding sheet, or the grave robe of the dead.
She can also appear as a bean-nighe (washer-woman), and can be seen
washing the blood-stained clothing of those about to die.

Her mourning call is heard, usually at night when someone is about to
die. The wail of the bean-chaointe (keening woman) can be so piercing
that it shatters glass. Depending on the area, the keen can be a low
pleasant singing, the screeching sound between the wail of a woman and
the moan of an owl, or the sound of two boards being struck together.

The banshee can also appear in human form. In 1437, King James I of
Scotland was approached by a banshee who foretold his murder at the
hands of the Earl of Atholl. There are records of human banshees or
prophetesses attending the great houses of Ireland and the courts of
local Irish kings.
