Hi! I’d like to begin my bio by saying that I took several liberities with the actual redcap legends in this story. The traditonal Scottish redcaps were no where near as nice as Gecki is. They, like Gecki, lived in abandoned towers but they did indeed dye their hats in the blood of passersby they would kill. Oddly enough, they were reported to wear iron boots and use iron weapons.

The Redcaps of this story are, to my mind, a kind of aboriginal fae rather like the Neanderthals were. They are slowly being forced out of existance by the growing discord between the Human Realm and the Land of Faerie. Perhaps some day I’ll return to this story world to see how Hummold and Elliana have gotten on.

Enough about the story, now for something about me. I’m a graduate student in English composition at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. I’ve been writing seriously since I was about seventeen and have recently become brave enough to post some of my writings to the Web. If you’d like to read more of my work or just look around my website, please feel free to visit it at http://www.oocities.org/Area51/Labyrinth/8584. Please, if you would, sign the guestbook. And tell me Gecki sent you.
