Submissions Guidelines

So you wish to submit your work to Faerytales? Well your submissions are certainly welcome. But you must follow a few simple guidelines if you wish for me to review your work for possible publication:

1) Poetry is accepted. Generally no longer than 30 or so lines. Epic poetry has no length.

2) Stories are accepted, but they must be no longer than 5,000 words.

3) Book reviews and informative articles about fairies are adored and loved but it doens't need to be a full fledged thesis or anything.

4) Artwork is accepted as well, just don't make it too huge to upload.

5) ALL WORK MUST DEAL WITH FAIRIES OR SOMETHING ABOUT THEM!!

6) GRAMMAR CHECK YOUR OWN WORK!!! Once you submit it that's it. I will send you a note to recheck my html coding but if you submit a grammer mistake chances are I won't go nuts trying to fix it.

7) Please put --FAERYTALES SUBMISSION-- on the subj header of your email. If you don't put this on your subj header don't be surprised if I don't read it.


8) Have your work sent in by the due date. It's best to have it in by the day before but absolutely no later than the due date for the next issue. For now the due date will be the 27th of each month.

9) Your work must be YOUR original work. If it is a submission from another author then you must leave an email where I can reach that author. Stuff like "I found this from the net or got this from a book and I thought it would make a lovely addition" does not cut it. Though you are welcome to write a review of fae books and fae poems etc that you like.

10) I would also like to take the time to announce a new catagory called continuing stories. Here you can submit stories that are more than 5,000 or so words that will be published as a 'to be continued' section in each issue. Fantasy novels are welcome as long as there is some reference to the fae at some part of the story.

11) From now on when you put in a submission I will personally email you back to let you know I got it. Keep in mind that until I email you back you might as well just assume I haven't gotten it yet so try to submit it again to make sure I get it. Don't worry about never hearing from me. I check my email all the time.
