citizen: a person covered by UCW. These people work for corporations that pay dues
or pay the dues themselves for the safety.
d-card: similar to a credit card in shape. D-cards hold electronic data that can be
downloaded. Modern day floppy disk.
fixer: middle man that sets up jobs for runners.
hard work: on site hacking.
i-card: similar to a credit card in shape. I-cards hold information on a particular
person. The i-card requires a thumbprint of the owner in order for it to work.
I-cards are commonly used to control locks, keep medical information, banking
information, etc. Oh yeah, that's a thumbprint from a living breathing person still
attached to the original owner.
lawless citizen: a person who is not protected by UCW. These people can not
be victims of crimes. Only citizens can be victims of crimes.
lc: see lawless citizen.
merc: mercenary. Usually hired to commit some violence.
Mr. Johnson: name used by people wishing to remain anonymous when hiring
people to do their dirty work.
rigger: another name for fixer.
runner: a person who hires out for less than reputable jobs.
soft work: hacking from your own computer.
thor: cops or local authorities. Paid for by corporations to
protect citizens.
UCW: United Corporations of the World. An organization
that uses money (from dues) to provide for the safety of citizens.
At least, that's what they say they do.
c-card: similar to a credit card in shape. C-cards hold electronic
money anonymously. Like having cash.
