"Banks of the Lethe" - Episode #108 (spoilers below!) (Click here for review)

The Andromeda is near the black hole where it was originally rescued from. Aboard are Perseid scientists who are conducting experiments on the singularity. They hope to determine a "universal constant" that will allow them to make advances in Slipsteam piloting, teleportation and other new endeavors.

Meanwhile, 300 years in the past, Dylan's fiancée is in a ship commanded by a mutual friend (a Nietzschean High Guard officer). They are attempting to rescue the Andromeda.

Dylan is overwhelmed with memories of Sarah and Rev Bem "advises" him to send a 'letter' to her in the singularity to express his feelings, even though she will never receive it. Dylan broadcasts a message and Sarah receives it, sending an answer to a shocked Dylan!

Exchanging messages they quickly discover the true situation and stabilize the signals to the extent that Dylan is able to send a holographic image of himself. While there Dylan assists them in repelling a Nietzschean attack, but at the cost of any hope of rescuing the Andromeda.

Meanwhile, Harper has been working with some of the data the Perseids are retrieving to attempt teleportation via the destruction and recreation of the quantum entangled particles in an object. His first attempts result in the transported objects exploding. He later finds how to send the transport signal back in time and suggests this to Dylan.

Dylan, against the advice of Rommie and Beka, determines to send himself back and then retrieve Sarah by giving her a signal booster Harper has devised. However, when he goes back to her, both their ship and the Andromeda come under attack by Nietzschean vessels. Tyr guides fighters to destroy their attacker and Dylan helps the ship in the past to trick them into leaving by a transmission supposedly from the Andromeda.

When Dylan and Sarah attempt to go back to the future they find that only Dylan can return. Tempted to remain with Sarah, Dylan regretfully leaves her, believing the restoration of the Commonwealth is paramount.

Impressed by what they have seen the Perseids become the first race to sign a renewed Commonwealth charter.
