Note: As mentioned in my episode guide, I will no longer be doing a synopsis for episodes and my reviews will be briefer than previously.

Well, a prince in exile was an interesting if not original premise. Having Tyr and Dylan as co-regents was a nice twist that for awhile was interesting to see played out. As part of this there were some good scenes early on where one or both of them gave advice or training to Erik.

The character of Erik was a bit hard to swallow as a "clueless" prince, but he had a really believable scene when he is overwhelmed at having killed Yanos. Speaking of Yanos, was there really anyone watching who didn't guess he was a traitor, being that we knew there was one, and he was the only other survivor!

However, I had some problems with Dylan who does need to be more of a realist, but here seems to bounce back and forth from the extremes of idealism and ruthlessness. My larger problem is with Tyr who has never been an idealist, but in the past has been believable and enjoyable as a man who respected and cared for his comrades while seeking to advance his agenda as a Nietzschean. Now by the end of this story he is has no qualms about having Dylan murdered, with no evidence that he knew what Dylan and Rommie had planned.

Speaking of which, the ending was in my mind a needlessly rushed and chaotic way of concluding the story. This was similar to the last episode, but here we do not even get any closing scenes to bring closure to the story. The Tweddles are pretty neat in action, but their fire-power (as well as that of "the most powerful ship in known space) is rather inconsistent with prior stories where this could have made quite a difference.

Plenty of action as usual and a few good scenes between Erik and Tyr or Dylan, but overall a bit disappointing story. Hopefully we will see better in coming weeks.
