World Cup Woes
Before you read my rant, I suggest you look at this e-mail I received, which is the reason for my raving like a lunatic. Names and e-mails have been removed to protect privacy. Below that is my rant.
Subject: It is unfair to Chinese Team, GAME AGAIN?
The video clips of THAT penalty kick in Saturday's final game USA vs. China have been released to the public in the world.
They showed the US goalkeeper moved forward before the Chinese player touched the ball, which is not allowed.
Rulebook states that as a goalkeeper prepares for a penalty kick, he or she can move laterally along the goal line but not forward before the ball is kicked. The US goalkeeper moved forward about 2-3 yards before Ms.Liu Ying kicked the ball.
The e-mail also included an .gif attachment which proves he is right.
Look closely at frames #1 and #2. It can be clearly seen that Scurry moved forward before the ball was kicked.
I don't care if you believe me or not. I'm only doing this to inform people of this outrage.
If you are a soccer fan, or know a soccer fan, or at least care about the truth, I stronly urge you to pass along the news. The population deserves to know.
(My rant)
I am pissed. I am royally pissed. You know why? I just heard that the US goalkeeper, Briana Scurry’s game-winning save in the China vs. US Women’s World Cup Final shouldn’t have counted. Scurry moved forward before the ball was kicked. That’s how she saved the goal, but it isn’t allowed.
So why didn’t the referee call it? After all, she was standing right there. Was she bias? If so, then why is she a ref?
What kind of BS is this? Stuff like this shouldn’t happen in international sports. And yet it did. So why aren’t they doing something about it? Why is the US team being paraded as heroes when they won unfairly?
Why isn’t FIFA taking the cup back? Or at least investigating this thing?
I might be making assumptions. I might be making accusations without grounds. And you might not believe me. But whatever the details and formalities are, this was not fair. And that is the truth.
