The second album from the Celtic Group, Carreg Lafar

The cover design is called 'Trisgel Ar Llech/Triskel on Slate,' and was created by Antwn Owen Hicks of Carreg Lafar. All rights to it remain with him. I'm just trying to help publicize the group.

One of the more popular bands at the 1999 Atlanta Celtic Festival was a fivesome from Wales called Carreg Lafar. The band members are:

  • Linda Owen Jones (Llais/vocals)
  • Rhian Evan Jones (Ffidil/fiddle, Fiola/viola, Soddgrwth/Cello, Llais/Vocals)
  • James Rourke (Ffliwt/flute, Pibau/whistles, Llais/Vocals)
  • Antwn Owen Hicks (Llais/Vocals, Pibgorn/Welsh hornpipe, Pibgod Cymreig/Welsh Bagpipes, Bhodran, Tabwdd/Drum, Offerynnau Taro/Percussion, Pib/Whistle) and
  • the newest member, Dylan Davies (Gitarau/Guitars, Mandola, Llais/Vocals).
  • The impression I got is that the group is ready to get a real big following outside of Cymru/Wales because they're very good. While they don't sing that much in English (only part of one song on their first album), that didn't seem to matter to the audience at the festival. It's really hard to explain unless you were there. Suffice it to say that their music got inside you.

The CD is finally in! An updated page should be coming Real Soon Now!
