Eric's card there puzzled me. I recalled him as a big bearded man one wouldn't like to cross. He'd never featured in my intrigues, never really crossed my path. I knew he was a great duellist, certainly my equal when last we met. No mage. Not a subtle mind, but he'd made a pretty good Regent. Leave him with the much dignity.
Eric of Amber is just as he appeared in the books, save that he's not dead. To those who saw him die, this is both a puzzle and a disappointment. He doesn't appear to have done much save fighting for the throne - something he is still doing now, even though maddened by a death experience. There is a theory to the effect that Eric is a revenant, an undead creature kept in the realm of the living by powerful magic, or an uncompleted task.
