Dark Angel: MEOW (1 of 2)

Max has to cope with several problems, from she and Logan entering a new stage in their relationship to being once again in heat thanks to her cat DNA, and assisting Zack in a mission to rescue Tinga.

In this first part of a two-part story, there's a lot going on. Cindy gets some great moments as she tries to save Max from herself (the scrabble sequence being particularly telling) when she is determined to have sex with every man she sees, even Normal. It's funny and better dealt with than the previous time (in Heat) and makes Max realize how she feels about Logan. The passion is impressive, presumably helped by the pair being a couple in real life.

The Lydecker versus Madame X plotline advances as well, with the drone from a couple of episodes ago coming into play and causing the death of a recurring character. Quite who will win their battle of wills is open to debate, but it will be interesting to see it play out. Both are as vicious and clever as each other, and determined to succeed.

Meanwhile, the rescue forms a small part of the plot, being initiated by Zack but providing a fine ending to the episode as Max finds herself in a Manticore stronghold with the body of Tinga. Will it push her over the edge? We'll have to find out next episode...
