When the president's daughter is killed, Frank is sent back to be her bodyguard, but manages to make something of a name for himself...
I've come to the conclusion that the writers on Seven Days spend most of their time sitting in separate rooms and not talking to each other. Some seem to think Parker is a nice guy trying to do the right thing in his own inimitable style and others, like here, believe he just roams the US snogging anyone he likes and being totally unprofessional.
It's getting tiresome. It's as if there are two Parkers taking part in this series, and the one in this episode is the one who acts like he doesn't care about anything. Any agent worth his salt, especially one who's been working his job for three years, should know better than to be caught kissing his charge, regardless of the fact that the decidedly slutty Dee Dee Maxwell is the one who initiates the encounter. I know it's become Parker's cross to bear that every woman finds him irresistible, but she's old enough to be his daughter, and with paparazzi everywhere he should know better.
Then there's the murder question. The way the episode is put together makes it fairly obvious who is responsible for her death: a mysterious kid who is hanging about all the time. The problem is that when it turns out it's not him at all, a whole new set of questions are opened up, such as why didn't he tell what he saw in the original timeline? What is the point in Donovan fingering him as a suspect so late in the day when he turns out to be a red herring? It's not like we haven't been pushed into suspecting him enough already. There's no real motive for murder from the would-be killer, Dee Dee is so stupid that she deserves everything she gets anyway, and after accepting a date with the guy who's been following her, rushing over and snogging Frank again is hardly going to make him happy. All this and no one thinks to arrest Dee Dee's attacked once she's been saved from a terminal fall. It's lazy, it's badly plotted and it's a terrible mess.
