Seven Days: Crystal Blue Persuasion

An astronaut returns from outer space with an alien virus within him. Making him irresistible to women, it's not long before he impregnates Olga...

Oddly enough, that's pretty much the entire plot. Based on a cross between Species 2 and The Astronaut's Wife, when you look back on the episode, very little actually happens. Astronaut William Shreck brings back a contaminant, engages in some hot sexy action with Olga and it goes on oh so predictably from there. The only interesting addition to the storyline is when Frank is infected by the virus as well, but this is fixed by a death-defying Backstep trip in the sphere in which Mentnor calmly sets fire to Parker. Of course, had the writers not seen fit to get Donovan injured early on in proceedings, all this wouldn't have been necessary, and it's as if his not making a backstep is becoming a running joke.

Rod Rowland makes a suitably hunky yet sinister guest star, but when the problem can be so easily solved, there's little build up of tension, and the whole thing falls rather flat. It's debatable whether much more could be done with this relatively simple premise, but a fight and some running and chasing doesn't make that wonderful an episode.
