SCREAM was released on home video December 2nd in stores everywhere. It also came out in 6-yes count them 6 different versions. And here is where you can find out about each different version before you go out and buy the one you want!
If you are wanting the directors cut-the only ones which seem to
have it on it are the Neve, Courtney and Drew boxes.
Here are the different versions:
Regular Version- This is just a simple version that is a lot like the version that you can rent at Blockbuster and the other video rental places. It has no added extras-but is the simplest version there. And the cover is exactly like the poster.
WideScreen- The Widescreen version's cover is just like the regular version and the poster-except across the top is written WIDESCREEN. The only difference that I know about this one is that you'll be able to see more than the other versions. I dont know if the directors cut stuff is added either.
Directors Cut #1- Ok, I dont know the exact order that Mirimax and Dimension are putting the Directors Cut versions-but first on my list is the Casey Becker package. Well-thats what they called it but its really not a package. All there is, is Casey on the cover as you see to the right of the page. If you would like to know what the Directors cut includes-you can CLICK HERE to read whats the little extras. (This is the one I personally own=)
Directors Cut #2- Second on my directors cut list is the Sidney Prescott package. Like before it just has Sid on the cover like you see to teh left. Also in these new covers (The Sid, Casey and Gale) is a little extra interview thingie at the end. It has all the stars of the movie-including Matt Lillard, Skeet Ulrich, Neve Campbell, Rose McGowan, Wes Craven, Kevin Williamson, Jamie Kennedy, David Arquette and Courtney Cox-all our favorite stars. Its a really cute little extra too, so if you want to read what was said-you can CLICK HERE. This package also has the directors cut stuff too.
Directors Cut #3- The third (on my list of course) directors cut version is the Gale Weathers version. This one has Gale on the cover as seen to the right. And also includes the directors cut extra's and the extra interview at the ending with all the stars of the movie.
Deluxe Version- The deluxe version includes everthing that is on this list: It contains two tapes (whats on each exactly? One is the Scream movie in Widescreen with the featurette and the other is the commentary with Wes and Kevin), the collectible widescreen feature film, exclusive behind-the-scenes SCREAM featurette, complete running audio commentary by director Wes Craven and writer Kevin Williamson, 3 collectible cards featuring exclusive SCREAM video artwork, and an exclusive SCREAM phone card! (Which is like 10 minutes pre-paid calling minutes) This would probably be the best version to get and depending upon where you live it'll run you around $35.00 give or take. If I could've found this one-its the one I would have gotten-but I asked mommy to get it for me for Christmas=) If I get it i'll tell ya more about it. I didn't get it for Christmas-but I've recieved lots of e-mails from people who did. It doesn't contain the directors cut-so dont buy it thinking you'll get the directors cut in it.
And also as I find out more about the different versions-I'll put it here so you'll
be well informed on what you can buy! Happy SCREAMING everyone!
