Love is eternal. It burns, but never extinguishes. In this temple, we rever the bond between Mulder and Scully. They are soulmates--whether or not you believe as lovers or as friends. "Souls come back together, different, but always together..." Love is love. According to "The Field Where I Died" Mulder and Scully have been together throughout time. They are bound by some nexus and keeps them together through each lifetime, (and for you shippers...) Melissa was never with Mulder in this lifetime but for those brief moments. Scully has been for quite some time.
