Its You

Isn’t it funny that when you think
everything is going great, something shitty
always happens?

I don’t know, maybe it’s only me. Maybe
god hates me. Yes I believe in god, though
I would never let Scully know. In her eyes
it would redeem me. I don’t want to look
good in her eyes. I don’t deserve it.
Pretty fucked up huh?

I used to think that I might actually mean
something to Scully, that maybe she loved
me like I loved her. Then she left. She
didn’t even say goodbye. She just left a
note saying “Its you, you know. Forever.
It’s too intense. I’m sorry”.

Why is it that just when I need to
understand her, she looses her eloquence?
Or maybe she didn’t loose anything. I’ve
analyzed that note for almost a year now.
But today, I gave up. I don’t know what
triggered it. Maybe it was that whiff of
her perfume that I caught in the hall, or
the hundredth petite redhead that wasn’t
her on the street. It doesn’t matter
anymore.

So I’m sitting her, on my couch, with my
gun in my hand, wondering where it all went
wrong. Was it when I said ‘’I love you’’?
Yes, I was drugged out of my mind, but I
meant it. Did I make one to many cracks at
her? By now I’m fairly certain it was when
Prescott, that little weasel, said ‘’Agent
Scully already loves someone’’. I pushed
her away, I didn’t want to be a third
wheel.

Now, my gun is raised to my head, my
finger on the trigger when it hits me.
‘’Its you, you know’’ She loves me! The
doorbell rings. Its Scully. She looks up at
me through her lashes. I crush her against
me fiercely. ‘’Its you too Scully’’. She
looks at me and gives me a smile that makes
me think the whole world will come crashing
down to make up for the way I’m feeling
right now. And then I kissed her. And the
world resumed its relentless spinning.
