Tommy functions within the DCU, and he lives in Gotham City, which is, as we all know a Superhero hot-spot. So it's not surprising that in his line of work, he came along some quite well known people in the DC titles. Some good, some bad, they all appear in "Hitman"... and all found the experience pretty embarassing....
Batman
The Dark Knight of Gotham City, first encountered Hitman during the "Contagion" crisis. He has been, since then, trying to arrest him. Batman did the fatal mistake of punching Tommy in the gut, right after he ate curry. The result was for Tommy to lose it, and puke all over the Bat-Boots... yech! Tommy managed to get away, after the Arkham Asylum fiasco, and looks like he managed to scare him off, as we haven't seen bat-boy from issue #3.
The New Green Lantern
Kyle never knew once he was getting into, when he started going after Tommy. Tommy, after a brief showdown, eventually convinced him that he was his friend and to cooperate with him for a while. He also humiliated him in public. You see, a superhero can't carry cash in his outfit, so when Tommy bought him a round of beer, he couldn't buy him one back....resulting in the blank stares you get if you do something like this in a real pub. "No wonder they didn't let him into the Justice club!"
Catwoman
Feline Fatale actually took a liking to Tommy. She helped him save his butt, when he came face to face with an improved Mawzir during the "Ace of Killers" storyline. Nothing embarassing happened to her. However, this doesn't mean she went out of the comic unscathed. Tommy used his X-Ray vision on her, to check her out...if only she knew...
Etrigan The Demon
Etrigan and Tommy have lots of history (Tommy, after all started his days in the "Demon"). Tommy first encountered Etrigan when he was trying to kill the Dubelz brothers, and fought the Alien parasite with him. After a while, Etrigan hired Tommy to kill Astraroth. After the job was done, after a while, Jason Blood, Etrigan's human host, hired Tommy to kill Merlin the wizard. At the end of that saga, Etrigan was rendered heartless (literally) and powerless, which gave Tommy the chance to pinch his cheek, e gesture that ticked Etrigan off for quite a while. During the "Ace Of Killers" storyline, Etrigan traded the Ace of Winchesters for his heart. He still managed to get Tommy though, by forgetting to give him the sacred ammunition. After the whole ordeal was over, and the Mawzir was finally destroyed Etrigan and Tommy had one final confrontation. He told Tommy that he liked him, but he might just get him.
Superman
The Man of Steel was really having a bad day when he run into Tommy. He had failed to save a life, and he was feeling really low. Tommy and he had a really heart-to-heart talk, during which Tommy told Superman that he is "what is great about America". He also melted down into a fanboy asking Superman for his autograph. Superman's morals really boosted after that little discussion, and he took off, not knowing that Tommy was doing a hit at the same time he was talking to him. Oh well... You can't change everyone....
Gunfire
Like Tommy, Gunfire was created during the "Bloodlines" crossover. His series lasted only about 12 issues, and it was not that good really. Gunfire had the ability to turn anything he touched into a deadly firearm. Tommy shot him in the leg. Gunfire then tried to use a medi-pack and turned it into a gun, seriously injuring himself. He then turned his ass into a hand grenade, which resulted in him getting blown up and killed. What a jerk!
John Constantine
OK, so he only appeared briefly in a Jason Blood's flashback during the "Ace of Killers" storyline, so he didn't do anything else, he is still a major "Vertigo" character, and I should mention him. John Constantine is a wizard that lives in London and deals with supernatural cases. He is the main character in "Hellblazer", Garth Ennis' alma matter,
Darius
Another "Hellblazer" character, Darius was the right hand of the King of vampires, until John Constantine killed him. He was ready to go into the light himself, when he realised "If the king is dead, what does that make me? He then tried to make a kingdom of vampires, and establish himself as a king in No Man's Land, which resulted in him getting killed by Tommy and the gang....along with his troop of vampires.
