I want to wake up next to you while its still dark out
and listen to you breathe
and touch your neck
and smell your hair.

I want to sneak into the house one night
and surprise you with candle light
and long red roses
and deep red wine.

I want to be there to pick you up when you fall
and be your friend
and be your lover
and be your hero.

I want to lay next to you in the darkness
and feel your closeness
and feel your warmth
and feel your touch.

I want to be the focus of your dreams
and live in your heart
and be devoured in your bed
and drown in your eyes.

If you could lay before me
All the treasures of this earth,
They couldn't light a candle to
what our love is worth.
For, could a diamond melt my heart
The way you often do?
Could a ruby manifest
The love I have for you.
Could a million dollar piece of gold
Reach out a loving hand?
Could it speak the words I love You
As I have and can
Pray, no they can't for they have no heart,
And their glitter soon fades away.
But you and I my darling
Can build out love day by day.
And though the world will never understand
Just how much you mean to me,
It is because they don't have the eyes I have
And can't see the heart I see
For all the words in all the world
Could never begin to say
How much I treasure who you are
And the love we share day to day
