You almost jump out of your skin when your peaceful walk with your guide to the realm is interrupted by the sudden appearance of a large kat, that's glowing a faint green blue and seems to be wearing a bit of goth jewelry. Said jewelry goes well with the spikey black mane, and the black marking under his left eye that gives the impression of smeared mascara, but not so well with the rose, purple, and pale blue spattered across the rest of his frame.
You note all this while your heart rate drops to a more normal rate. Fortunately, you also notice that despite the very abrupt appearance right in your path, this kat doesn't seem to regard you as anything more than a curiosity.
"You teleport?" You inquire, wondering exactly how you managed to keep your voice that even when your heart still hasn't calmed completely.
"I do, yes, " the kat replies, in a cheerful voice that's completely at odds with the jewelery. "Sorry for startling you, I'd wondered who could be wandering this far into raveen territory and came to check it out. I should have realized it would be a wanderer," this is said with a nod at you, " and Guide. " A smile is added for the little fox that's been your guide for this entire trip. " A pleasure to meet you wanderer, my name is Maokuu."
With introductions complete, Guide grins back, and then replies with a careless shrug, "No big, it does the wanderer good to be startled once and awhile. After awhile their reactions get better." For whatever reason, he sounds extremely amused by this statement.
After awhile, you decide that the Raveen's expression has setttled into quiet embarrassment. What exactly had happened to get that reaction to such a simple statement?
The embarrassment is followed by a grin, "Well, if nothing else I've learned startling wanderers with Ari is as dangerous for me as it is for them. Ari, as usual, escapes everything with nothing but luck. Evidently they take the large, glowing, floating male to be more of a threat than the fuzzball. That's the only reason I can think of as to why it's always me that ends up dodging flung objects whenever a wanderer has more violent reactions than cringing."
Ah, inside joke. You think you remember this "Ari" they spoke of. The kat was of no identifiable element, but her thick blue fur and bright grin definitely made her seem less of a threat than this particular male.
"Well, " Maokuu's tone, which had been light and teasing returns to it's previous all business state, " If it's only you wandering around here, I'll be off."
Guide nods, and bids the large male farewell.
