Loss Ribbons

I got the idea for my ribbon from the Baby Bunny Memorial Site. You use a peice of pink ribbon and a peice of blue ribbon put back to back, and pin together. I decided to pin ours with little birthstone angel pins. (The color is slight, so it doesn't show, but the little dress on the angel is the color for June, the month our baby was due.) My ribbon also has the Right to Life feet pined to it. Not only because every child no matter how long they have been alive has the right to live, but also because footprints are kind of special to Jon and I.

Everyone has thought my pin was great, but some asked, "So is that a real thing, or did you make that up?" It is real, others wear them, althought you may not see them as often as red ribbons or yellow ones. You can buy similar pins and ribbons on ebay.com. October is National Pregnancy Loss Month as declared by Ronald Reagan in 1988. If you have lost a baby or have a friend or relative who has lost a baby, please make or buy a pin. The more pins, the more recognition, the more sharing of pain, and healing.
