The Online Readings Informational Page

Secretive doing a reading
I have never made it a secret that I am an online reader. In fact, many times I am conversing on another totally unrelated channel and get a message sent to me asking why I am also listed as to being on a tarot or divination themed channel at the same time. *smile* This has also at times helped me to find others of like minds or interests to converse with ... as well as finding querents to read while online. *chuckle* *wave to the non-tarot folks who have "found me out"*

This is a little series devoted to online readings (and may also shed some light on the Tarot's mysterious side as we go along). Please bear in mind, if you haven't gotten the "drift" by now thru reading the other pages I have, I write things as I tend to talk in real life. *shrug* *chuckle* I don't do this to make this hard or difficult on you, just simply that what you see on here in the typeset is essentially how I am in reality. *smile*

Here is a list of some common terms you may hear used or discussed on the divination thought channels ......
Divination :
This is a term given to a technique or method that is used to see past the present tense of things for a person.
Tarot :
One of the many divination system/meditational tools, only that this term pertains to the use a pictorial depicted deck of cards (usually 78 in number) that is rumored to have roots in ancient Egypt but the only "first" thought-to-be such styled deck, that is on view in a museum in Europe, only dates back to the mid-1400's and has its roots traced back to Italy and associated to the card game called "Tarrochio" and the Vsconti-Sforza family. If going with Egyptian thought, then the derivation of the name "Tarot" means "the royal path of life". The Tarot deck is also thought to be related to regular playing cards.
Spread or Layout :
a simple line or pattern-like format that the person reading the cards uses when "turning over" the cards to determine a card's placement (which has been "assigned" a manner that the card is to be interpreted in regards to where it "falls") in relation to the person they are reading for. There are almost as many styles of spreads or layouts as there are decks available on the market (which the decks now number well over 200, and there are new variations/styles released every year).
Reader :
Is applied to the person that looks at the cards (or another system of divination technique) and allows themself to look deep into the "images" to gather information for the person that they are reading the cards for. It is this person who will turn the symbols and images into words.
Querent :
Is the term some readers use to refer to the Questioner or the person whom they reading for. It is *their* questions and situations that cards will help examine into some deeper detail or to help guide them thru the time of the present onto the future, while pointing out the importance of the past as well to them.
Psychic :
A term which in my point of view has become an overused and as well as a vague term that many use. The actual definition is as follows : 1. mental clairvoyance, 2. a medium. (taken from the dictionary that also defines "clairvoyance" as "power to see beyond the range of vision; intuitive knowledge" and "intuitive" is described as to meaning "perception without reasoning; insight".) Most noted or written about "seers" (i.e. Nostradamus and John Dee) at one time were called "visionaries" -- I like these terms better as it seems to take note of the fact that readers are using their "sight" as well as insight.
Golden Dawn :
A no-longer active "secret sect" from England that formed near the turn of this century that not only delved deep into the Tarot by also incorporating the cards into rituals and the original members copying their version of the deck in their own hand using the "sect's" main deck as a reference per se, but also count Aleister Crowley and Sir Arthur Waite as part of their alumni.
Celtic Cross aka Grand Cross :
One of the most popular spreads that readers of the Tarot cards use as probably the one of the first many learning to read the cards learn (the other easy one they first learn is the 3 or 4 card spread that deals only with one card representing the past, one for the present, and one for the present. . .in the 4 card, there is a card to signify the querent in the reading) This is a general reading-style formatted spread that sometimes goes right to the heart of the "matter" in not only relation to time or the querent, but also emotionally, considering the querent's subconscious, their fears or hopes, and their interaction with others.
900 Psychic Lines :
I am not using this space to down these services, but yet I also feel they are partly responsible for the psychic-term being overused and abused. As there are quite a few legit readers/clairvoyants/etc. that work for these places. . .sometimes I feel that the personnel dept. sometimes too readily hire folks who want to "just talk to you" or act like a "counselor", having you rack up money on the minute talking to them trying to get them to do an actual reading, or folks who know about as much about reading the cards as the loaf of bread sitting on my kitchen counter does. *chuckle* I have called these lines myself in the past. . .and have encountered some very gifted individuals who work for them, as well as a few who I couldn't figure out as to how they got hired, so I won't make fun of you if you call these places also. *grinning chuckle*
Pagan or Wiccan :
Refers to a form of a religious thought (deemed non-christian or even *gasp* *chuckle* evil by some who are of different religious followings or set of beliefs. Sometimes also referred to being *deeper more loud-sounding gasp* occultists.) that has roots deep back into time. A belief in not only a god male figure, but also in that a goddess watches over us as well -- like a full set of parents rather than just being from a single parent family per se. Also they incorporate a respect for nature and the earth into their beliefs. The difference between a Pagan and a Wiccan is that the pagan is a follower of the old beliefs, and the wiccan incorporates a magickal side in with these beliefs. A true wiccan or pagan does not believe in the existence of an evil deity or persona, thus cannot believe in nor worship the "devil" or "satan". . .what they do believe is that whatever feelings they send out, will come back to them in threefold and thus will not try to send out a negative energy but rather turn the negative energy into a positive one. "An' As Long As It Harms (which means to hurt, spite, or try to garner control of...) None (includes others around the person wether known or unknown, and also themself), Do What Thou Wilt" is the "Wiccan Rede", not unlike the Christians "Golden Rule" of "Do Unto Others (this means your actions -- verbal, physical, or otherwise -- towards everyone, regardless of their background) As You Would Have Them Do Unto You (what goes around comes around, eh? Sort of Karmic sounding...)."
