It is the pUsa naxatram of the month thai (pushya) that is called thaip pUsam. It normally falls on a full moon day. Most of the temples would have the boat festival (theppa utsavam). The Lord would be coming out over a float on the temple pond. This is an auspicious day for worshipping Lord muruga also.
