Welcome to crayfish's place on the web.

The idea of the Academy is to bring together ideas, information, dreams and visions by which we might reimagine the earth, land, and wild/nonhuman nature in their deep-textured sur-reality (beyond the merely "real" as it's defined by dominant Western standards, i.e., as property, resource, etc.).

The Geosurrealist Dream Academy is a place for learning and for the exchange of ideas about the world-dream -- the dream of the Earth spun into existence by Maya Herself, the Great Illusionist, the divine/collective imagination of all sentient beings.

It is a place for

  Who is Crayfish?

  Crayfish lives underwater.* Crayfish weaves webs of words and images, spells and ideas. Crayfish may or may not be an alter ego of Adrian Ivakhiv, whose home page you can visit by clicking here.

  *Water, in an elemental sense, refers to the medium in which an organism lives. Humans live in the medium of images & symbols, discourse & language, embodied perception & emotion. We swim in this messy, sticky, tangled web, and create our worlds from (within) it. Adrian may pretend to be "some-one", and to know things about "the world." But Crayfish knows better: (s)he just messes about, and in the process transgresses boundaries between paradigms, identities, worlds, edges (for instance, the one separating earth from sea).
